“Showground Location”
Reviewed 2 June 2017 for a stay in May 2017

We stayed in the Coach House for three nights over the May Bank Holiday.

The apartment is as advertised and, if anything, the photographs do not do the accommodation justice. It was the first time that we have stayed in self catering accommodation that was in the 'landlord's garden', but the Coach House is detached and Stan and Olga were not intrusive at all.

It is situated on Wetherby Road, immediately opposite the Great Yorkshire Showground. As Wetherby Road is the road that connects Harrogate with the A1, this is a busy road. The Coach House is well set back from the main road so, even with the bedroom windows open at night (as the unseasonably hot weather dictated us to do, although there is a fan available too), we could barely hear the traffic the following morning.

As we were relying on public transport over the weekend crossing Wetherby Road was the only downside as, during the day, we needed to walk two minutes down the road and cross the road using a series of 'islands' to catch the bus into Harrogate (there is an extremely good bus service between Leeds/Wetherby and Harrogate). As there is a superstore across the road I would say that the County Council should lose a point for not putting a crossing there rather than Stan and Olga.

We didn't use many of the kitchen facilities over the weekend, but it is fully appointed including full size cooker and washing machine. The sitting room is smaller but still well equipped. The Coach House has it's own Wifi box so there were no problems with the connection anywhere in the Coach House. There is a Sky+ box as well with the free Sky channels available.

Upstairs are two bedrooms (one double and one twin) and a large bathroom with a shower over bath. Downstairs has a cloakroom with WC. A family of four could comfortably stay in this accommodation without getting in each other's way.

You are able to share the back garden with the main house and the use of sun loungers and BBQ are available on request.

The Coach House is extremely good value. There is a three night minimum stay and if you are staying in Harrogate for at least this length of time, you can rent the whole Coach House for approximately the same cost as just one room in the budget hotels in town. To us, there is no contest!

Thanks Stan and Olga, hope to see you again soon.

“Easter Holidays”
Reviewed 20 April 2017 for a stay in April 2017

This was a well presented, warm, clean cottage that was very easy to find. It is on the main bus route into town although you could walk it easily in half an hour and considering it was on the main road into Harrogate it was a lot quieter than I expected. Would definitely look into booking this property again.

“Great cottage”

Enjoyed three days at the cottage while visiting the Harrogate area. Great location on the main road leading into Harrogate, we found the cottage to be very comfortable, with everything we needed to hand.
