We stayed for 1 night after shopping in Harrogate, we got a superior room which overlooked the stray, I think the only reason it was superior was the view which was nice. It was comfortable but not very big, but it had all the comforts you needed.
We had breakfast and dinner, the breakfast was buffet style, but everything was tasty and plentiful. The dinner you get either a set 3 course menu or you could have up to £25.00 per head off the main menu, again decent enough but nothing outstanding.
All in all a decent hotel we would consider staying again if in Harrogate.

Room Tip: Superior have good views

We booked this hotel as a stop off on our way to the Yorkshire Dales, and it served it's purpose. We arrived late and ate in the bar - food very good. There is also a restaurant on site if you fancy something more sophisticated. The rooms were clean, shower good and bed very comfy. Free parking onsite.
I wouldn't say customer service was top-notch, but for the price we paid we only needed it for a stop over so what can I say.

Visiting the annual Christmas Country Fair in the International Conference Centre we decided to incorporate an overnight stay at the aforementioned hotel.
The Cedar Court Hotel is reputed to be the oldest hotel in Harrogate, it stands in an impressive position overlooking parkland, has easy access and is a ten minute walk into the town centre.
Having arrived early for our check-in we decided to have a snack in the bar / lounge, the décor and furniture in this area requires some serious TLC.
we ordered Yorkshire ham sandwiches with Yorkshire tea, sandwiches consisted of two slices of thin brown bread with a slice of processed ham, a few crisps and some wilting salad greens, presentation nil points. cost £17.60, you have been warned.
Checking in we were upgraded to an executive room, number 203 on the first floor ?
there are 2 very efficient lifts to access the upper floors, so good news for people with mobility problems.
The décor on our floor had been updated using modern brick cladding totally out of character with this historical building.
our executive room was clean and appeared to be recently decorated, although very small, a standard room by our experience at other hotels.
the highlight of our stay was the restaurant, smallish for the size of hotel, welcoming with a good choice of fare and friendly service. luckily we were allocated a table within a semi circular booth, some of the tables were far to close together making private conversation difficult.
returning to the bar / lounge area for a nightcap we found the bar littered with dirty glasses and empty bottles, the two barmen busy doing nothing seemed oblivious to the situation, not a welcoming situation for guests.
breakfast was good with efficient service with an overspill room available so plenty of room for everyone.
deciding on a change from our regular hotel when visiting Harrogate, on the assumption that a change is as good as a rest, would we return ?
personally the answer would be no, the restaurant apart, the hotel fails to live up to this lovely historical building.
if you are looking for a historical hotel with easy access and lovely outlook, give it a try.

I booked two rooms on the 29thoctober for a stay on the 24th November, specifying that one of the executive rooms needed to be twin beds. After booking it through a travel company I also telephoned the hotel to relay this specification which they said was no problem.
When we arrived on 24th November we were informed both rooms were double beds even though on their booking form from travel company stated one room needed to have twin beds.
I was informed they had no twin bedded rooms as they were fully booked that night and because I had booked executive double rooms I should have known inside their rooms were only double beds!
No alternative options were offered and basically we had to put up with it which was not satisfactory. The room was adequate but small with small bathroom and we could hear every word on the television from next door and then at 3.00am the occupants in the room opposite could be heard returning to their room from the disco downstairs screaming and shouting for an hour. The don't care attitude of reception staff and the noisy parties which were not aware of made our stay very uncomfortable and would not recommend this hotel to anyone.

Although we booked an executive double room , it appeared more like a standard room compared to other Hotels we have stayed at . The Hotel felt slightly dated in the corridors and possibly in need of refurbishment . We had an evening meal in the Hotel and found the restaurant cold , even after we asked to be moved away from the doors . The service in the restaurant was average , lacked any personal service . The breakfast was buffet style but again average , would have preferred waiter service for the cooked breakfast as in other Hotels . The Hotel was in a fairly good location , only a short walk to town centre.

Room Tip: rooms with best view at front of Hotel .
