Just returned from a stay at this hotel. When checking in found the young man on Reception really unwelcoming, didn't offer an hello just simply said 'name'. Again when given the key to door gave no information how to use it, where the room was or anything, not a good first impression. On the up we went back to Reception later in the day and the lady manning it was lovely, very friendly. When checking out again the same young man never smiled, asked us if we'd had a good stay etc, very odd.
Putting all that aside the hotel was a good base to stay for Harrogate just a short stroll into the town. The room we stayed in was really good sized and clean. The bathroom tiles were broken in quite a few areas on the floor, but the bathroom itself was very clean. Breakfast was lovely as was dining in the Restaurant in the evening.
All in all apart from the very unfriendly checking in and out we had a lovely stay.

My husband found this gem of a hotel the day before we came. We were not disappointed. The hotel was spotlessly clean as was our room. We booked a basic deal offer room and it was fabulous to say the least. All we can say is that the executive rooms must be out if this world as ours was brilliant and would definitely book the same room again. Top marks to the housekeeping staff and of course the rest of the hotel staff for their kind hospitality

We were here two nights with DBB for one of the nights. The superior room was lovely with chocolates and wine included, bathrobes, huge bath and shower and comfy big bed. The menu in reception didn't do the bistro justice at all, so don't be put off by that. The bistro meal was fantastic and the staff dealt with our needs very very well. The breakfast was good as were the facilities for drinks in the room. We took a train to knarsborough (10mins) and walked back in just over an hour. Lovely area. Would return to this hotel no problem.

We were visiting family and friends in the region for Christmas and decided to have a night on our own for New Year. We booked the New Years Eve dinner with live entertainments and a disco with an excellent value bed and breakfast package ( £99 for b and b for two in an executive double room ). A selling point for us was that we had our border collie with us and dogs were accepted. Our room was in the new wing and was of a very high standard , the bath / shower room was luxurious.
The New Tears Eve dinner was delicious - I had a seafood terrine, fillet of aged beef and a mulled wine panacotta to die for. The restaurant was full and our fellow diners seemed equally satisfied with their menu choices ( made in advance). The live entertainer was a great singer who had an extensive repertoire of '60s and ´70s numbers - my husband is something of a a connoisseur of the era's music and not easily pleased but said he was fantastic!
Breakfast buffer was good with plenty of fresh fruit and full Englsh breakfast options,

A thoroughly enjoyable visit..

Room Tip: The new wing has impressive rooms
