This hotel is open just a few months and it was a great place to stay. The rooms are cosy and nicely laid out. I was lucky to have a river view and it was just lovely to hear the Garavogue and look across at Calry Church. Staff here are very welcoming and the hospitality from reception to bar and dining room was as good as you would expect anywhere. This hotel is very good value and in my view is the best of the hotels in Sligo Centre. A few minutes walk brings you to the heart of Sligo. It was perfect for a business visit to Sligo but I would also stay here if I was visiting for any reason. The quality of the bed was superb.

Room Tip: Ask for a river view and if you have a mobility difficulty it might be a good idea to ask for a room...

My husband and I really enjoyed our visit to The Riverside Hotel. Efficient and friendly staff. The hotel is spotless. Clean and cosy room. Delicious breakfast. All in all - real good value for money. There is on site car parking. We would highly recommend a stay here.

My wife and I stayed at the revamped and renamed Riverside Hotel Sligo for a week commencing 17th of August 2015.
This hotel was always one of our favorites in years past and we were sad when it closed down so when we spotted it was reopening earlier this year we jumped at the chance to stay here again.
The Riverside is situated on the bank of the Garvogue River close to the centre of this small town / City and within 10 or 15 minutes’ walk of all of the major city sites. The walk alongside the river via John F Kennedy Parade and Rockwood parade is pleasant and relaxing and takes you to the main shopping, eating and drinking areas.
The parking appears to be pretty poor at the Hotel itself, and the owners of the hotel will have to look into providing a better area close by, or maximising the space they do have as I can see this being a major drawback for car owners.
As for my wife and myself this was not much of an issue as we use public transport or walk everywhere but that said on several occasions the inconsiderate parking especially by delivery drivers made reaching the front doors an obstacle course.
The hotel has been redecorated & refurnished and looks clean, fresh and welcoming. Check in was quick, professional and friendly and set the tone for the staff interactions throughout our stay. The staff were always polite friendly and smiling and nothing was too much trouble. They are a credit to the hotel and made our stay all the more enjoyable.
Our room, number 310 was a 1 bedroom suite comprising a living / dining room with Kitchenette, separate bedroom and bathroom. The room was situated to the rear of the building and overlooked the river with a great view from the balcony which could do with a little cleaning / freshening up. The furnishings all looked new (as far as we could tell / remember) and were spotlessly clean but there were a couple of food stains (Pasta Sauce?) on the carpet by the sofa in the living room. The dining area has a large table and 4 chairs great for entertaining or just spreading out and a two seater sofa was provided.
The bed was king-sized and was firm but very comfortable and there was plenty of storage space. The duvet was a little warm for the weather we were having but that was quickly fixed by removing the cover and just using that. Please note – the maid will remake the bed again, including re-stuffing the duvet into the cover every day unless you ask them to leave it. The maid service was very good, polite and friendly and nothing was too much trouble.
Large flat screen TVs were provided in the bedroom and living room, an improvement from our previous stays. But one change that was not so welcome was the removal of the Oven, Hob and dishwasher that these suites previously provided. We used to enjoy cooking for ourselves and inviting friends and family over for a meal but you still have a kettle with tea & Coffee provided, a toaster, fridge and microwave. Also the dining facilities at the hotel have been improved tremendously so we didn’t miss them too much.
The bathroom with Toilet, sink, large mirror and shower over the bath was clean and well-appointed and 95% of the time there was plenty of hot water at a high pressure from the shower. On one occasion there must have been high demand but 10 minutes later it was back again to full power. Plenty of clean towels were provided.
The room does not have air conditioning and on a couple of nights this was an issue as the room was warm and stuffy. Leaving the balcony door open was not possible for me as I found the noise of the river and other external noises too much to sleep through but the wife slept fine so best try it for yourselves and see if you can manage. We left the window in the living room open and got some fresher air that way.
We found the breakfast excellent as there was a variety of breakfast cereals, fruit, yoghurt, pastries etc. then cooked Full Irish breakfast with lashings of tea and toast. There are various other options and the staff are more than willing to help you get a decent breakfast.
The Hotel has the Mill bar which is pleasant and well decorated pub / bar and had a decent variety of drinks on offer and also provided food from the restaurant and you could eat in the bar or the restaurant. You could buy drinks in the bar and take them to your room if you wanted. On a couple of the nights there was live music which was great and made for a lively evening.
We only ate once in the restaurant, the food was reasonable but there are so many other places to eat in Sligo that we didn’t return as the menu was rather limited.
We were visiting family and friends and also enjoying the magnificent scenery that County Sligo has to offer. We climbed Knocknarea, visited Strandhill, Rosses point, Doorly park, the Holy Well at Tobernalt and many other scenic areas and walks in Sligo. Go to the tourist information office for some great guides and ideas of what to see and do in Sligo and the surrounding area.
Overall we found it a great place to stay and great value for money.
We will definitely be staying here again.

Room Tip: Rooms at the back and side have a river view. Booking a suite will give you bags of room to stretch...

Stayed at this ĺovely newly refurbished hotel recently. Stayed with my husband and 2children. Highly recommend it, lovely clean rooms with good facilities. Very convenient with a beautiful setting. The breakfast and evening meal were excellent. We were there for the fleadh and even with the crowds coming and going the staff were always efficient and very helpful. The bar is a great spot comfortable and friendly. Will be returning for sure!!!
