We originally booked a B&B in the town of Westport, but due to a miscommunication the room was no longer available when we arrived. The B&B owner called around and found us an available room at the Seapoint House in Kilmeena. I was upset by the change in plans, but to my surprise we just loved the Seapoint House!! The room was impeccably clean, modern, so comfortable with a lovely view of Clew Bay. Our hostess, Carol, was more than accommodating, sweet and helpful. As it was late, she called a nearby restaurant in Newport and told them we were on our way for dinner. We arrived at about 8:56 (they stop serving at 9) and had a delicious dinner at the Grainne Uaile Pub. We were delighted that there was a Traditional music session that evening and we stayed to listen.Breakfast was served in a cozy and light filled room. We enjoyed a walk by the water with the owner's dog, I hope to come back to Seapoint House in the future! It was a lovely stay all around and we are so glad about the mistake!

Off the beaten path, perched on land's end sits elegant, two-story Seapoint House. Without a GPS to guide us, my daughter and I thought surely we had passed it. As luck would have it, we came upon one of the O'Malley's neighbors. He graciously led us to the house. Because we were lost, it was way past dinner time when we arrived, but in spite of a sprained ankle, our hostess, Carol O'Malley, brought a tray of hot tea and biscuits up to our room. The view of the 'Point' and the bay from our upstairs balcony was feast enough and an excellent breakfast (ordered from a generous menu of choices) more than made up for missing a meal. Large rooms, the best beds, stylishly furnished and a great shower made us wish we could have stayed more than one night. The playground in the back yard and the walk along the waterfront assures a great time for everybody. Seapoint House has it all.

My wife and planned a trip to western Ireland, beginning at Seaport House about 5 km outside Westport. We found a lovely, well kept and clean house overlooking a beautiful bay and distant mountains. Rooms are spaceous and well lighted (we arrived on June 1st, so the sun is up until 10:30 at night and BACK up at 4:30 in the morning. So you get plenty of daylight!) The proprietoress, Carol, was absolutely wonderful, friendly and welcoming and on the spot each morning with personal service and friendly chatter about your day and where you might find the most interesting, lovely and unusual places to visit. If and when we return, we definitely would stay at this bed and breakfast. The only difficulty we had on arriving was in finding Seapoint for it doesn't have a street address our Garmin GPS could locate. It would help if the Google and/or Garmin coordinates were published with the descriptions of Seapoint on file with travel agencies. We spent hours looking for it before stumbling on a person by unbelievable accident who actually knew of the house and its location. So ask your travel agent for the coordinates when you book and make sure you get them.

Room tip: Booking ahead and communicate by email or telephone with the proprietors..

Close enough to enjoy Westport, but tucked away in a serene setting. A beautiful home and grounds. Stayed here only a night, but wish it could be more. We greatly enjoyed the generous hosts and the very well appointed room with a gorgeous view.

We had a lovely stay at sea point house. The house is nice & well decorated , the view is beautiful & the breakfast is very well cooked (especially scrabbled eggs and smocked salmon from the bay). We recommend this address for everyone wants an exceptional moment.
