The Buttery is conveniently located on the plaza in the centre of Limerick.
On the day we visited there was a live swing band playing to promote the idea of a drug free world.
We only wanted a light lunch and I chose the soup of the day - a lovely cream of mushroom with garlic.
My cousin had the chicken Cesar wrap and could only eat half.

Lovely for brunch but a bit more expensive. I have been here for tapas as well they come when they are ready. Very tasty. However my patatas bravas were undercooked

This is a nice café, and particularly handy if stopping off in Limerick as it's about 10 mins walk from the bus station.

You get a tasty breakfast from polite, welcoming, efficient waitresses. Definitely recommended.

Good Irish breakfast.
Quality meat sausages.
Good portion sizes for adults although the kids portion was a bit big.
Really busy after 10am.
Staff were polite.

I went to the Buttery today Monday sept 4th for lunch with work colleagues. It looked nice from the outside and was busy which also was a good sign. However, as soon as we entered it was chaotic. Firstly we were greeted by a waitress stating "we can only take cash, our card machine is broken". A simple hello would have been nice. We were then herded like cattle to our table. We ordered food at 1pm and at 1.40pm when I asked was it ready, The response was simply "you're next" no apologies for the poor service. When the food arrived it was simply terrible. 2 of us ordered the Grilled Prawn Tacos. The tacos were missing ingredients on the menu and our colleague who got sweet potato fries left them as they were stone cold. On leaving we were going to look for the manager but there was such confusion getting people seated by the entrance we decided to leave. To top things off when we did pay in cash they had very little notes so gave me back a load of coins instead. Again no apologies just "there you go". Would advise anyone to avoid this place.
