Stayed for week in July and it was perfect, peaceful and quiet had everything you need, first time to bring dog away and she loved it great base location , can't wait to return ,thanks for everything Breda c u soon.
The cottage is near Callan which is good for supermarkets and takeaways, Yum Yum is very good. Good for getting to Kilkenny for meals out, Wexford etc. The cottage has a lovely private garden and very pretty. Breda is lovely who owns it, very helpful and the cottage is very clean and has all your needs. Will be going back.
Having seen the Cottage some 14 years ago before the renovation since it is in my wife's family, I had always hoped that I'd get to stay there. I finally did and what a marvelous experience. Outside, stopped in time and just as I had remembered it. Inside, all the modern comforts so you're not roughing it. Peace and quiet, acres to walk around in and say hello to the cows and two minute from town. Living history not to be missed with the unique Irish hospitality.
We loved our couple of days at Molassy Cottage. It was so different from all the other (urban) locations we stayed in during our visit to Ireland and our first time in a thatched cottage. Just like the cottage itself, the bucolic setting was also much to our liking. And just as Breda said, the cows in the adjoining field were a lot of fun - curious, if not quite friendly.
The cottage is an easy drive from Kilkenny city and Waterford, and the village of Callan with its supermarket and pubs is just a couple of miles down the country lane.
Can't think of anything we didn't like. Looks like Breda had thought about just about everything. Even got our washing done (and dried).
Located out of the villiage which gave it a rural feel, and was very quiet. Only 5 mins drive to Callan, which has a supermarket. Very cosy without being tiny. Clean, tidy and well appointed. Would loved to have stayed longer.
