We stayed here for two nights at Easter. We were a party of three adults and a child. We had a family suite, which was clean, had a kitchen area, two tv’s with plenty channels and was a very good size particularly for families with small children. The room was clean and the beds were comfortable. However I think that the rooms badly need a little TLC. A fresh lick of paint, new curtains, carpet etc would really make a huge difference. The bar/restaurant and reception areas are much more modern and freshly decorated. The breakfast was good, okay choice of hot & cold. The dining room was very busy both mornings and the staff were exceptionally busy constantly clearing tables.

The bar food was also pretty good. There was entertainment both nights although I think particularly as this is a family hotel that the music should start a little earlier than 9.30. Also maybe a little kiddies disco before the adult entertainment would be a nice touch. My daughter loved both the indoor and outdoor play areas and these were well maintained. She also spent some time in the supervised playroom which she also enjoyed. Every child received an Easter Egg on Easter Sunday at breakfast, this was a nice touch. All the children also enjoyed the Easter Egg hunt after breakfast.
Throughout our stay the staff were very friendly and all work very hard and their friendliness is an asset to this hotel. The manager was also visible throughout our stay and was very hands on and had a nice, friendly manner.

This is a good three star, however I think with a lick of paint inside and outside and a freshen up to the rooms, this could be a great place to stay.

Two plus two on this trip...boy 10 and girl 15. Decor very dated but clean and tidy and plenty of everything. We had an interconnecting room with mini kitchen and two Tv's and a sofa. Breakfast was massive with loads of choice and very good quality. We had dinner one eve and it was wonderful, enjoyed by four very different tastes.
Found it strange that the second bar was not open the 1st night which made space at a premium. Leisure facilities were very clean and I had the pool to myself on Saturday morn.
I would recommend this hotel but it needs a bit of modernisation, sooner rather than later.
Once again the staff were the highlight, nothing too much or too little for them.
We will be back.

Stayed here for two nights at the end of March with husband and three children. Stayed in family suite which had a mini kitchen facility, enough to heat up a meal in microwave. Rooms very comfortable. Slept well as it was quiet. Breakfast buffet very good with plenty of variety. Pool perfect for kids as there's no deep end and very well supervised. Inflatable slide for an hour each evening for the kids. Sauna and steam room for the adults. Plenty of activities for the kids. Teen room has pool tables and other games machines. Small gym for football and soft play area for younger kids. All in all we spent a very enjoyable two nights and enjoyed the environs of Killarney. The hotel is very close to the town. We visited the tin soldier factory near macroom in Co Cork, about a 30 minutes drive, it's a must with kids as they get to make their own toy Tin soldier from melted lead and then paint it to take home. We also made tin Easter bunnies. A thoroughly enjoyable activity. I would recommend hotel Killarney for a family break.
