Nice place, nice people, brill service and drinks,

Came over from Coventry for a family event - would highly recommend this place

Prices are average for the area and local people sing and play music there all rounder for every age group

Well done

Stayed here for a night on route to the Aran Islands. Location was great as we could walk to the city and also Salthill. Rooms were small but perfectly formed, although a little dated but we expected this, especially as the price was cheap.
bar was well stocked and after we spent the night in Taffes in the city we came out to find the Golf on and the bar still serving...delightful for my hubby who loves golf. Really friendly staff, great Guinness and a perfectly cooked breakfast in the morning to cure the sore head! Would stay again without doubt.

Room Tip: For a cheap stay, friendly staff, great breakfast and a great location - stay here!

My cousin and I stayed here for one night while visiting Galway and I have to say I was really happy with the accommodations! Yes the building is old (I prefer charming and quaint) and if you are looking for the ritz this is not it. BUT for the price and location it was an amazing deal. The room was bright, relaxing and clean. The beds weren't the best, but I've had way worse and they give you a ton of pillows. We also had a tea kettle with coffee and the showers were hot. I highly recommend grabbing a pint of beer in the pub downstairs and the full Irish breakfast the next morning (delicious!). I can't say much on the noise as we visited during the week and there wasn't a lot of action at the pub. But it was such a close walk to other parts of Galway that we didn't mind going to another pub.

My partner and I stayed at this hotel for one night during a recent visit to Galway.

Yes the hotel is old, this is reflected in hallways and furnishing. However they are making great attempts at modernising the rooms. Our room was located at the back of the hotel. It was small but had new wardrobes, a flat screen TV, and tea/coffee making facilitates. The room had nice little touches like pictures on the wall. The bathroom was small but very fresh, it appeared to be newly tilled with a nice shower (great hot water pressure) and fresh crisp white towels. The room were cleaned to a very high standard – which is key for me.

The bed was a little uncomfortable – a new mattress is defiantly required, it sunk in the middle of the bed. That said we still managed to sleep well, the bedding was also very clean. Noise was not a major issue for us, but you can hear people in the hallways quite clearly, depending on where you are in the hotel and the type of guests staying, it has potential to get noisy.

The staff in this hotel are so friendly – really you get such a lovely Irish welcome here. There is a nice rustic bar downstairs which shows sports etc. Approx. 15 minutes walking distance to the centre of Salthill and in and around the same (maybe 20 minutes) to the centre of city.

The hotel has free wifi, which was not really working while we were there.

Yes the hotel is basic and requires some modernisation, but you will be hard pressed to find a hotel that offers a truly unique & friendly Irish welcome for that price in Galway.

For a cheap stay, this hotel is ideal. We would defiantly consider it on a return visit to Galway.
