Was welcomed right away by barstaff and waited on quick. The beer was great. Everyone welcomed us and made us feel right at home.

The wife and I were visiting a few months back and managed to get some time away from the kids. With only two nights in Dublin before heading over to the family sites in Kerry, and it being our first time, I wanted to maximize our pub options. This is why we stayed in Temple Bar.

That area may not be the ideal place to stay for everyone....just depends on your agenda. Ours was hitting pubs. And I am happy to say there are many, and we hit our fair share of them. The Dame we hit maybe halfway through our first evening. We visited many more that eve and capped the night there. The next night, we skipped the rest as we had already found the best! A quaint spot, friendly locals, fun barkeeps and an impeccable pour. Music was a plus. Entertaining but not too loud if you wanted to just chat. Good people watching on the corner out front too.

If you are in that area and you want a few “pops,” no need to walk all night...look no further. The Dame is among the very best pubs I have visited, not just in Dublin, but anywhere.

Thanks for the warm welcome! All the best from across the pond, guys!

Brendan Kelly

Popped into this pub for a quick drink when we first arrived in Dublin, and what a fabulous find! Best Guinness we had during our 4 day visit (and we sampled a few!) with very friendly service from the barman, who recommended other good bars to visit and the best places to eat. It was quiet at the time we were in there, but we returned the following evening to a packed pub with live music and a fabulous atmosphere. Unfortunately we didn't get chance to go back again before returning home, but would definitely recommend to anyone visiting Dublin looking for somewhere with a real Irish pub feel.
