“Holiday weekend”
Reviewed 14 May 2017 for a stay in May 2017

Cottage was clean and great for a weekend visit . Cottage was a little cold ( but did not know how to work heating ) . Only thing I would complain about was maybe a sign on front with name of cottage as they all look the same but it did not affect our stay which was lovely Location was within walking distance of all the attractions would definetly return to this property

“Lovely House, Great Location”
Reviewed 4 January 2017 for a stay in December 2016

The house was lovely and just like the photos, great for 6 people and had everything we needed. Short easy walk into town. Comfy beds and sofa bed. We added an extra day to our original booking with no problems and great communications from the manager. Great house, great location, great stay.

“Very nice cottage”

Our group of 3 females really enjoyed this charming cottage located in one of the oldest parts of Dublin.
The location was as promised: just 15 minutes walk from center of Dublin, with cafés and shops around the corner. The house is a bit smaller than it appears on the pictures, but everything is very clean, the beds are comfortable and there is more than enough room for groups of 4 or even 5 people. An ideal stay for families or a group of friends.
As mentioned by others, the communication was excellent: timely, clear and informative.

“Great place but not quite as central as we expected”

This cottage is clean, furnished in a basic yet functional way and was spotlessly clean when we arrived. Ideal for four people but more than that with one small shower room and you are on top of each other. Everything worked fine and the sofa bed was very comfortable. The Liberties is very much a working class area and is roughly a 20-25 minutes walk to Temple Bar. At night my wife felt a little nervous on some of the streets that we walked on to get back but with four men (myself and three sons in their 20's) we generally felt safe. However, if it was a group of females I am sure it would not have been the same. Overall, a nice clean property and great communication from the owner.

Thanks for taking the time to post your review. I hope you enjoyed your time in Dublin.

The cottage has two bedrooms and comfortably sleeps 4 however the option for 6 guests is there using the sofa bed. Many groups book for 6 knowing that there is one shower room but clearly this makes the stay more cost effective.

I just want to address a couple of points in your review as I think they could be misleading. The cottage is very close to the city centre and many of the key sights. St Patrick’s Cathedral is 8 min walk and Christchurch 10 min walk. Both of these are considered Central Dublin. I don’t want to split hairs regarding the distance to Temple Bar, it is 18 minutes according to Google Maps and I can walk it in 15. I think that for most cities this is considered a central location.

The Liberties is an old working class area of Dublin and has a mix of residents including older residents, foreign students, tourists and new arrivals working in creative industries. The cottages were originally built for workers in the nearby Guinness Brewery. Parts of the area look a bit scruffy, like most of inner Dublin, and to many visitors, this adds to its character as you can see from previous reviews. I’ve had many groups stay from all over the world including women only groups and no one has had a problem with safety. I appreciate that the area was not to your taste however many others have loved the experience of staying in an interesting and historic part of town as opposed to the usual tourist hotels.
