A friend raves about this place. After visiting I don’t see what. She is correct that service is dreadful but the food as well is not amazing. The food is certainly tasty, if they have it (there’s a lot crossed off the dirty menu and a lot unavailable even on the specials board not updated.). Whilst tasty it is also so full of salt we drank gallons of water after.
We had the crispy duck starter, stir fry scallops main (suspect there might be msg in the sauce) and the black pepper beef with rice. All were tasty and the mains are a big serve, but again not full of flavour other than salt and fat.
Deserts are from a card listing cakes and things purchased frozen. Even then most of them were crossed out. Not a single thing was an Asian sweet at all.
The service was awful. Appears to be students without any training whatsoever and nervous because they don’t have a clue and don’t handle the people or communication skills to interact with guests.
They say they take cards, but the card machine was broken. Another guest said it was broken when he was there a month earlier too.
With the awful dingy decor, glass top tables smeared with grease (or not cleaned with clean cloth), dirty menus, incompetent staff, and mediocre food we won’t be back. There’s much better Chinese and other Asian restaurants in Dublin where you’ll be welcomed, treated with respect and can eat a tasty meal for two for less than €60.
