This hotel is a little out of the city but the fact it is just a 3 minute walk from the nearest Luas stop really does make it easy to get around the city and its attractions.
In fact in just a two day stay with little previous knowledge of Dublin we managed to see the Irish Rock n Roll Museum, Dublin Castle, The Guinness Storehouse and Kilmainham Gaol as well as spend plenty of time around the Temple Bar strip.
We arrived at the hotel on Saturday teatime and were greeted by the very friendly receptionist who checked us in with the minimum fuss.
There is little in the area of the hotel so we decided to spend Saturday evening in Minnie Mcabes, the hotel bar. I was travelling with my wife and 15 year old daughter and we all had an excellent meal from the bar meals menu. If you're staying Friday, Saturday or Sunday there is nightly live music but don't expect the typical Irish music you'll find in Temple Bar. The bar was certainly busy for the entertainment wich was more your typical 60's - 70's style pub singer.
Our room was large and spacious but if I have one complaint the beds were hard and I woke with lower back discomfort both mornings.
Aside from that small complaint the hotel is perhaps a good alternative to the big budget options in the city!More
