I enjoyed the museum, and I'd recommend doing the guided tour inside, because you find out about the history of Dublin and some of the items in the collection. I also did the walking tour around the square and the park, which also explained more of the history of Dublin and Ireland. Really worth doing both of those and then just having time to wander through the museum/house at your own pace.

It’s only a few rooms (doesn’t quite merit 10 euros, most of the reason for 4/5 stars) but they pack a punch. Tour guide was great and gave a lot of interesting info. If you’re new to Irish history, it can be hard to navigate. It’s a lot of pop culture since all of the artifacts are donated from Dubliners.

A fantastic way to spend 3 quarters of an hour and free entry if using thr Do Dublin hop on hop off tour. You get a talk from one of the staff and takes you through a social history from mid-1850s to present day. Full of artefacts donated by the Dublin public in a wonderful Georgian house. Well worth a visit.

We went there today and were warmly welcomed. Patrick made the tour. He was very engaging and funny. Is not too long and perfect for children . Nice little snippets of history and artefacts but nothing too heavy.Thursday evening tours are free which is a bonus. No other museums were open beyond 6pm when we visited Dublin.

Enjoyed a tour of this lovely little museum. Interesting 30min tour through the the ages in just a few rooms. Each room is packed full of artifacts and quirky bits and pieces, all donated by the people of Dublin. A very nice social history of Dublin and well worth a visit.
