We were craving oysters after our day at the Guinness Factory and 'Matt The Thresher' came highly recommended. It was our last night in Dublin, and we enjoyed our evening dining out with the locals! We made a reservation and our table was ready for us even when we arrived 15 mins early. The service was good, and the food delicious. We shared oysters, and then had the Salmon and Mussels (along with a side of chips!) I think we closed the placed down but did not feel any pressure to leave after ordering a few after-dinner drinks

If you love seafood this is the place for you. I do and I enjoyed my first meal there so much I returned, going twice in a three-day visit! The portions are generous and well prepared. I had the chowder, which is chock-a-block full of large tasty morsels of seafood in a thick and creamy soup. I also tried the crab donuts, which were also amazing. Matt the Thresher does not use fillers. The salt and pepper squid was perfectly done and the generous mound quickly disappeared. The fish pie is also spot on. The service is friendly and attentive. Saturday night was full and a bit boisterous for my taste. We also went on off-hours and found the atmosphere was more relaxing. When I return to Dublin I will return to Matt the Thresher. Highly recommended.

The restaurant is on 3 different level. Special and unique. We had Wild crab stuffed in doghnut with saffron aioli, Black angus steak with with chips on a withe triffle and parmesan sauce. Very delicious. We really can recommend the dishes. Also the staff very friendly, espacially Luca. Thanks for the good dinner.
