I've been there as a local rather than a tourist, but I pity the overseas visitors being ripped off with everything more expensive than normal in this district. I hate the image of our people and city that this area depicts: addiction, aggression, consumerism and vulgarity,

Fun place! They even have live music on Monday afternoons! I love all the rooms within the bar. We didn't have food but the drinks and music were entertaining in the afternoon

The area has many music pubs. I like 1st floor Gogarty where they play traditional irish music, but there are many others. There are also restaurants for food, and it is possible to have dinner in some music bars. The area is touristic, and so are the prices, but is a must - mostly because you can listen to the old traditional songs that are wellknown - as well as the traditional irish music.

Nice people, nice place. Enjoyed having a half-pint there and talking with the folks from the UK visiting. Lots of shops and interesting things to see nearby as well. Stop in if you have a chance.

Visited here as it is what every one talks about and it was disappointing. I expected an Irish experience but it's like any other old pub. The drinks are massively over priced and the act playing was set up in the smallest part of the pub with no Irish songs played.
We stopped briefly but wouldn't recommend it.
The Norseman next to it is far nicer.
