Location is good, it's literally across the road from Cork station and we got a taxi into town. But wouldn't be a far walk, i was in heels so didn't fancy the walk. We were greeted by a lovely chatty lady who made us feel very welcome. We booked a double room with a single bed as that was all that was available and paid £120 for it. Which in my opinion is a complete rip off considering the room is very dated, the bed was very creaky, the bathroom wasn't very clean with a lot of hair in the shower from the previous guests. It was cheaper to book a double room but there were non left so we paid for the privilege of having a single bed. breakfast was good served on tiny plates.

All in all OK place to stay but not at all worth the price!

Oakland B/B is an old building circa 150 years and yet it is so clean ---spotless. It is located 200 yards from the train station. Also, at the station the 205 bus every half hour brings you to the city centre and further south west or you can walk, which will take between 10 and 15 minutes. When we knocked on the door of the B/B we were greeted by Ellen the lady of the house who gave us a great welcome. Brought us to our room and made sure we had everything and then organised tea and coffee. Breakfast is served between 08.30 and 10.00 and was excellent either full Irish or scrambled eggs etc. Plenty of toast and tea and coffee. The room and bed were very comfortable -- hair dryer and soap provided. We were facing the Glanmire road which at times was very busy with traffic but did not cause us a sleep problem. For what we needed to do this trip, the location of the B/B was brilliant and we would definitely return some time.
