“Away from it all but with all the modern comfort - what else do you need!”
Reviewed 11 September 2012 for a stay in June 2012

Loved the location and the weather was great, blue sky everyday, fresh air. Ideal place to chill out. Enjoyed the walking from the house to the beach, the pub for lunch in Stein. Recommend the boat trip from Stein, too, and also a visit to the Skyeskins shop is a must (you can do all of these by just walking from the house if you want). Every day was a different experience.
Relaxing evenings in the lounge watching time go by with a glass of wine. Seeing the sea eagle was a great experience, too.
The welcome pack was also a lovely touch. The house had all the modern amenities and more.
Thanks for some great memories.

“Peaceful Perfection”
Reviewed 16 August 2012 for a stay in June 2012

We have visited Skye many times before but never have we been treated to the hidden hebridean gem that is the wee village of Geary .
On arrival we were astonished by the breathtaking views and the beauty of the surrounding area.
No 19 was just a dream come true , the house sits in an elevated position with unobstructed views of the sea unless you count the sea eagle and golden eagle which were frequent visitors to the skyline ,
The interior of No 19 was 5 star quality , every little detail was catered for , we were even treated to a luxury welcome basket full of gorgeous local produce .
My Husband really enjoyed the new games room , although not sure I was much competition for him . .
No 19 is wonderful for a relaxing romantic retreat or equally suited for a great family holiday . . .
Go to No 19 Geary and stay in modern luxury and style but experience the REAL Island life of a peaceful friendly village , Peaceful Perfection

“Wow! Almost don't want to share this with anyone...”

If you're planning to stay at Number 19 you won't be disappointed! The house is beautiful, the view is outstanding and the wildlife is just outside the window.

I can't find anything negative to say about our stay. The house is lovely and spacious with good quality furniture, full Sky HD and a great kitchen (how many holiday places have a separate wine fridge?). After a long drive the luxurious sleigh bed was very welcome plus the 'all over shower!!!' The house is stocked with everything you could possibly need during your stay and it's all nice stuff, very well chosen and no corners cut. The welcome hamper was fantastic, in fact, one of the best we've come across and full of local produce, most of which you can buy just a couple of crofts away.

We were lucky enough to be on our own at Number 19, although a friend did join us for a couple of days in our second week. We didn't feel as though the place was too big for just to two of us so it is suitable for a couple if you want to spoil yourselves. The house isn't noisy and the bedrooms feel very private which is great if you're sharing the house with other people. It's also a pet friendly house, so, it was great to be able to take our two dogs with us (they loved it).

When we woke on our first morning we wandered down to the veranda and couldn't believe the incredible view. It really has to be experienced. Bring a camera that takes a panoramic view as it will take about 5-6 separate shots to cover the whole thing. You can see the Cuillins to the right, Uig directly opposite and the isle of Lewis to the left. You have a perfect view of the Ascrib islands. You're not overlooked at Number 19 and there's nothing blocking your view from the house out to sea. From this veranda we watched a pod of 30 dolphin one afternoon quite close to the bottom of the croft and a pod of 10 the next day. We saw Minke whale on two occasions in the bay. Sea eagles are spotted quite often.

The area is incredibly beautiful, quiet and private. There's the occasional car that passes on the single track road at the bottom of the hill or from Eagles Rest behind Number 19. The driveway is shared but didn't cause us any inconvenience at all.

The games room is great fun: particularly the full size snooker table.
You can barbeque on a specially built area as well between the house and the games room. It must be a great house to have the whole family together as the owners have thought of all age groups.

We did meet one of the owners, John, sadly we didn't meet Catrina but they're both good at keeping in touch to make sure that your stay is comfortable (not in an intrusive way though). John is really good company and can tell you lots about the area and the island. He was incredibly kind to us when we stayed, for example texting me when dolphin were in the bay and bringing a replacement corkscrew when we couldn't find the one in the house (he also brought a bottle of wine because he and Catrina felt we'd been inconvenienced). He really made the stay special for us and we felt very well looked after. If you're concerned about privacy, don't worry, it's not the sort of arrangement where the owner is around all of the time. We just liked talking and John probably couldn't get away!!!

We've already booked Number 19 for our Summer break next year and had to compromise on our dates because it's getting booked up already. Secret's out!
