“Beautiful but not dog friendly”
Reviewed 13 July 2014 for a stay in July 2014

This is a lovely cottage but on site of owners house which we hadn't appreciated before booking. We were asked not to leave the dogs in the cottage alone which totally changed our plans for the week.We have never been asked this before in any other cottages we have rented. Bare this in mind if booking as it meant we couldn't leave the dogs for a couple of hours to go to Go Ape for my daughters birthday treat. If we had known this, we would not have booked.

Hello and thank you for your feedback. I am grateful for the opportunity to explain our dog policy which has not altered since this review.
Buzzard cottage is a dog friendly cottage and you are correct in your statement that we do not allow dogs to be left unattended in the cottage or to jump on the furniture. Your dog was unfortunately barking whilst left in the cottage and was on the furniture. It was clearly upset at being left unattended in a strange location. My husband explained this to you at the time and relayed to me that you were understanding about the situation. It surprises us then that you didn't say anything at the time.
Many of our guests bring a crate with them so that they can leave the dog for a few hours to visit a particular spot or take part in an activity that it is not suitable for dogs. Indeed, for our wedding guests, we even look after their dogs for the day, taking them for walks and out for the toilet.
Our policy has not changed since your review and we have welcomed dogs since and will continue to welcome dogs to Buzzard cottage. Our policy is for the comfort of all guests, those with and those without dogs.
We are also disappointed that the proximity of the main house was a surprise to you and I am grateful that you have admitted that this is something that you overlooked. We offer our guests complete privacy unless they wish otherwise and this is often the case. We are a very friendly and welcoming family and our reviews reflect this. If guests so wish we are only too happy to chat for a while about what the area has to offer, dogs or anything else that springs up in conversation. The main house and two self catering cottages sit in the centre of 84 acres of hillside and offer complete tranquility.
This area is fantastic for dogs and I hope that your review does not deter other dog owners from taking advantage of our beautiful Buzzard cottage which offers all the comforts of a luxury cottage, set admit stunning scenery and is totally dog friendly. Best wishes, Alison and Matthew Woods

“Perfect mini honeymoon getaway”
Reviewed 2 March 2014 for a stay in February 2014

Lovely cottage, beautiful scenery and surroundings, welcoming owner - not too near and not too far! We wanted a quiet getaway place to stay with our two year old daughter after our wedding last week and Buzzard Cottage was perfect and everything that we wanted. Aberfoyle is a short driveway as is Stirling. Our two dogs were made very welcome and they loved the long walks, as did our daughter. Planning another visit. Just perfect.

“A Gem of a Scottish Holiday Cottage.”
Reviewed 11 January 2014 for a stay in May 2013

We have stayed in Buzzard twice now and have already booked for our 3rd visit in August 2014. The cottage is cozy but spacious, a home from home but with that great holiday feel. The views from cottage are breathtakingly outstanding. The owners live in the Farm House next door. Not too close but not too far either. They are very welcoming and they will be as hands on or hands off as you want/need them to be. Nothing is too much trouble but you have your privacy . It's plainly obvious that it's their priority for you to have a great holiday. The surrounding area is ideal for one and all, the scenery is totally stunning. There is plenty to explore and do but it's also a great place to relax and unwind. The cottage is located in the best of places to explore a great deal of Scotland if you wish to go further afield. Looking forward to many more stays in the future.
