This Hindu temple is situated on the A9 higway as soon as you exit Matale town it is a very old temple which gathers a very large crowd for the annual cart festival from very lately this temple also had started to charge a fee from all foreign tourists. The security guards should be taught how to be polite to people visiting the temple

If you're about tired out on Buddhist temples, ruins and the like, it's an interesting divergence to visit a Hindu temple of the likes of the one in Matale! Colorful and different!

On our way to Dambulla we passed by this temple. We did not go inside just walked around outside. The Temple is beautifully detailed. Worth the 10 minute stop.

This is a beautiful, ornate temple with the most elaborate decoration we saw on our trip. Do stop off to see it if it is on your route. Probably not worth an individual specific trip though.
