The hotel itself was very nice and had a lovely lounge. Staff were very pleasant. The wait for food was well over an hour which was pretty disappointing as our kids were starving and disappointed as no time for dessert. They just needed more staff. Food pretty average.

We stayed one night and chose this hotel due to its location very close to the Blair Atholl castle. The guest house has a very fancy restaurant and a pub. We had dinner at the pub, food was good. Breakfast was rich and tasty.
Rooms are small, maybe problematic for longer stays.

Location is excellent and the area is stunning especially the Castle and is an hours drive to Aviemore. The staff are helpful and pleasant. However, the decor in communal areas and in the room particularly was tired and the room cramped especially the ensuite for the £100 a night charge and as the door did not fit fully all noise on the corridor could be clearly heard. Breakfast in the wonderful hall was basic; kippers were fillets from frozen not fresh and cooked in oil so virtually inedible, the scrambled egg was white and tasteless, coffee was awful. The Bothy bar was good and the garden pleasant but food again was very basic and uninspiring I would not return untill it has had a makeover.

Room Tip: See the room yourselves before you stay!

Stayed one night and booked to eat in the evening. Room was adaquate but the biggest issue was the 62minutes we had to wait for our food. The weekend was busy so the Hotel should have managed this far better with more staff or turning people away. We were given a £20discount for our stay and meal for ourselves and our sons but in reflection I shouldn't have paid anything for the meals. These places have to learn that people work hard and expect at least average standards. Really quite disappointing and I certainly won't rush back there.
