“fantastic flat - if only home were this clean and organised...”
Reviewed 1 November 2011 for a stay in October 2011

a beautifully presented garden/basement flat, with a large bright sitting room/kitchen, shower room, bedroom and separate loo. also access to outside patio which would be a real luxury on a summer's evening.

the flat has been decorated to a very high standard and is equipped with all sorts of thoughtful little extras - a mobile phone for overseas visitors to borrow, a bottle of 15 year old malt to sample (please note not quaff!) a laptop (serviceable but understandably not this year's model).
the bed was firm and comfortable with good thick curtains that kept out the light. digital radio is left tuned to world service if you're homesick!
hosts have lived in edinburgh for decades and so are very knowledgeable, barbara having written the first edition of " edinburgh for the under 5s". there was masses of information on what to do.

we loved it here. two of us stayed in the flat and our two daughters visited during the day. kitchen and sitting room area is large and comfortable and easily accommodated the 4 of us. think there was a sofa bed but didn't need it so didn't investigate.

great location - we walked into town easily within 15mins and there were lots of restaurants and shops in the immediate area.

my only caveat is that it is unfortunately not suitable for the very elderly or those with severe mobility issues because there are steps down to the flat from the pavement and both the bathroom and loo are a small step up from the main floor level.

“Beautiful holiday”
Reviewed 9 August 2011 for a stay in August 2011

In the apartment ,we spent seven days. The owner of the apartment greeted us, and explained all the details of the use of the equipment. In the living room were the prospects, who initialy helped us to start getting familiar with Edinburgh.
In the vicinity were all shops , for the most needed items. The bus station was 10m from apartment, and we bought a one day ticket ( 3,20 pound). To the center 10 minutes by bus or 35 minutes on foot.
We spent seven beautiful days , but I must mention that we had all time nice weather.

“Our home away from home”
Reviewed 21 June 2011 for a stay in June 2011

Our first introduction to Barbara was very pleasant as she showed us around the place. The flat was huge!! The pictures do not do it justice. There was every amenity you could think of including maps, brochures and instructions for everything in Edinburgh. The apartment was very, very clean and extremely private! The location was about a 10 minute walk from everything! The private gardens were so beautiful and so were the decorations! It was a very hard place to leave, I wanted to move in!! We could contact Barbara for anything, she printed off information for us and I am sure she would have done much, much more if we needed her too. I recommend this place to everyone!
