So the cabin is great with plenty of space and beautiful views apart from out of the kitchen window where there are 6 caravans????
At no point in the holiday description was this mentioned.
It was described as secluded!!!!!!
I did not pay the peak price to be staying next to caravans when i booked a private secluded cabin for a relaxing family break.
I would go again if the price was reduced drastically.
Also i would suggest a lawn out back with maybe a swing for the kids.
I would recommend this place to stay but im going to put no below due to price reasons and the fact its a lodge on a caravan site!!!
A very quiet place with stunning views to Caledonian Canal and Ben Nevis. We spent a wonderful week with our two boys in this beautiful house. The next time we visit Scotland, we will try to rent this wonderful house again. Thank you, Anita!
A great Base for exploring the surrounding area and a fantastic location for runners.
Situated on the edge of Loch lochy and on the Great Glen Way, this house is ideal for those that are looking for a place to walk or run long distances.
We stayed here for a week and the whole group enjoyed the houses' idyllic location. It offers superb views of Ben nevis as well as the Loch. I ran each day along the well marked paths of the Great Glen Way as well as on the canal tow path in the other direction.
The house itself is comfortable and has everything you need for an enjoyable stay. With just a 20minute drive from Fort William, the house is well located for exploring the surrounding hills while also offering a peaceful and tranquil location.
I would highly recommend this as a place to stay.
Beautiful setting near Loch Lochy and Fort William. Lovely canalside location with views of Ben Nevis - a great base for walking and climbing. Also excellent location for runners, with flat paths along the canal and lochs. Furnishings comfortable and attractive - easily spacious enough for a group of seven. Would recommend to families and groups of friends for short breaks.
We stayed here as a group of seven adults to celebrate my father-in-law's 60th birthday with a week's holiday. The lodge at Gairlochy Bay was a great find. The lodge is situated right on the Caledonian canal and is on the banks of Loch Lochy. Stunning views of the mountains, including Ben Nevis. The lodge itself is really well appointed, with four bedrooms, good sized kitchen, dining table to seat all of us and comfortable lounge space with TV. The two upstairs bedrooms, including the master suite are particularly luxurious, with ensuite bedrooms and a balcony overlooking the canal (master suite). All in all, we would highly recommend as a base to explore the highlands and recharge the batteries.
