“A perfect holiday”
Reviewed 19 July 2014 for a stay in July 2014

The cosy, clean, convenient little cottage- BOTHY- was a 7-days home for us; the amenities every bit as described in the website.
The privacy is priceless! And the hospitality amazing. Keep up the good work Barbara ....
Only if we could go back again

“Absolutely Marvelous”
Reviewed 30 June 2014 for a stay in May 2014

Accommodation was immaculately presented and very comfortable and extremely well sited for our holiday in the Highlands and around Loch Ness. The Strachan family made us very welcome, particularly Barbara. It was a pleasure dealing with her in person and by e-mail. She made the whole process from enquiry through booking to arrival and departure very agreeable.
It certainly was a pleasure to stay in the Barn at Balblair Cottages and I couldn't recommend a stay at Balblair Cottages highly enough.

“Our second home”
Reviewed 6 May 2014 for a stay in April 2014

It was the 6th time we came at the barn. We feel like at home.
It's easy to book using the Internet site and you can pay by credit card.
Barbara (the owner) gave us a very very warm welcome.
The cottage have (not exhaustive list),
3 bedrooms:
- 1 downstairs with 2 singles beds
- 1 upstairs with 2 singles beds too
- 1 upstairs with a double bed (queen size or king size, large in fact...)
Plenty of cupboard and chest of drawers
2 Bathrooms:
- 1 downstairs with electrical shower, WC and lavatory
- 1 upstairs with bath, WC and lavatory
1 Living room with open kitchen:
- Washing machine, Dishwasher, Fridge, Oven, Electrical cooker, Microwave
- All the cooking utensils you can imagine... (nothing missing)
- Big table
- 2 sofas and 2 armchairs
- TV
- Wood burning stove with plenty of logs
1 External garden with table and chairs

The cottage is well situated in a very quiet location, on a small working farm.
It is close to Nairn (6 miles) and Inverness (10 miles)
It is very clean, simple, functional and well equipped.

This is definitively our base to explore the highlands.

Something negative to say ? not easy... perhaps a tumble dryer missing when the Scottish weather is a little wet...

We are delighted that you like it here and enjoyed your 6th visit! Great to have some feedback on our booking system - we hoped that it would make it easier to book online and pay securely. A dryer/washer is something we have been looking into and we'll be sure to keep you updated! We look forward to seeing you next year?! Best wishes, Barbara

“Will definitely be back!!!”
Reviewed 9 January 2014 for a stay in December 2013

We stayed in the cottage over New Year and thoroughly enjoyed it. We felt right at home from the minute we arrived. The welcome basket was a lovely surprise. The cottage itself had loads of space yet felt cosy and homely. We travelled with our two kids, one aged 9 and the other just 18 months, and neither of them wanted to leave when it was time to go home. The cottage is in a really quiet setting, yet only a short distance from Nairn and Inverness, so there is loads to do if you find it too quiet. All in all, a great break. We will definitely be back.

“SImply Wonderful”
Reviewed 23 July 2013 for a stay in July 2013

Our extended family of 6 stayed at the Barn of the Balblair Cottages for 6 nights and could not have asked for a more lovely home base for our time in the Highlands. Situated on a farm just off the A96, the location was perfect or exploring the area, both west to Inverness, Loch Ness, etc. and east to the Whisky Trail, Nairn, Elgin, etc. The Barn has all the charm of an old stone cottage with all the modern amenities we could have wanted including washing machine, dish washer, flat screen television, Wi-Fi, full kitchen, 2 bathrooms, comfortable and well-appointed bedrooms and enough comfortable sitting room in both living room area and dining area... and a couple of friendly ponies who greeted us each morning and evening. :) There are also 2 smaller cottages available for smaller groups and I will recommend Balblair Cottages to everyone I hear travelling to the area. Thank you Strachan family for your gracious hospitality!
