There are a lot of pros and cons to Glen Mohr. We stayed twice whilst travelling through and paid little more for our first room as we stayed three nights. It was worth it. Accommodation is in terraced houses along the road from the hotel (I do believe there are some rooms in the main hotel itself). We had a downstairs front room and it was unfortunate that some repaving was being done with new lawns. On our second visit this had been finished and looked very nice. The room was pretty basic but clean and serviceable. Our second room was next to the laundry facing the back away from the river. I certainly would not want to stay there again, but it was just for the one night. We loved the bar and restaurant at Glen Mohr. The food was superb and we could settle comfortably in the pub with a drink and a book. Breakfast was okay, buffet style, but they cater for a lot of touring groups so it can be very busy. Location is superb, right there close to town. The view of the river would be lovely if not blocked out most mornings by the groups" buses. So, mixed feelings, but certainly I would recommend people stay there, just be careful choosing your room.

Room Tip: Certainly ask one for a river view and not next to the laundry at the back.

Dear guest,

Thank you for your feedback from your stay.

Our hotel is a collection of eight Victorian houses with all the rooms individually decorated and each building slightly different. If you do return to us in the future our reception would be very happy to take any requests for a specific building/floor.

I am sorry that you were disappointed in the fact that we also cater for many tour groups, Inverness is very popular for coach groups throughout the year.

I am pleased to hear that you enjoyed our restaurant and will certainly pass this on.

Kind regards,

My spouse and I spent one night here. We were very pleased with the nice-size room, comfortable bed, and modern bathroom. What was spectacular was the view of the river from our window. Despite the fact that their was a tour bus group at breakfast--the dining area is large so the group presence was not an issue. The breakfast buffet was very good. The hotel is also centrally located. I would definitely recommend this hotel.

Many thanks for taking time to review your stay with us.

We are glad to hear that you have enjoyed your river view room. We do feel lucky to have such views.

We do love our location, in walking distance to all shops, restaurants and public transport, yet on a quiet road along the river side.

We look forward to welcoming you in the future.

I will start with the few negatives. On arrival the welcome was luke warm from the front desk, the decor and plumbing is very tired and needs attention creeping floor boards and slamming of doors.
Positives, the room itself was clean and the shower was good. The cleaning staff were exceptional also the food was really top class. There is a huge car park so never any trouble parking up after a long days drive. The hotel is set right on the Ness river and is a 5 minute walk into the town centre. If I was to stay again it would only be for a night then I'd move on but for the price, location and experience don't be put off. Overall for us it was a nice stay.

The fire alarm went off in my parents room at midnight because apparently the heater they have in the room is too hot for the smoke alarm. The staff couldn’t figure out how to turn it off. They at midnight the. Changed the room with no assistance to my elderly parents to help with their luggage or any such thing. The breakfast was cold and awful. The staff is either over worked or just plain rude. Terrible experience. If you are elderly I would not recommend this place at all....

good evening,
we would like to apologise again for inconvenience caused but the smoke detector was broken so there was nothing we could do at midnight ourselves therefore we called the engineer to come in and fix it.
We do appreciate that it wasn't ideal and for that reason we discounted the stay and also offered breakfast for free.
We do hope that you will give us another chance in the future.
Kind regards,
Magda

We original booked for one night, but liked our room and location so much, we were fortunate to book a second.

The hotel is situated in a good location for the town, walking, local attractions and more. There is free onsite parking and an onsite restaurant (That we did not try – it looked very nice though!)

Our room was clean, tidy and comfortable. The staff were very friendly and able to help with any questions in a friendly and helpful manor.

We had breakfast included in the cost which was good with ample choice and included continental / cold foods and ordered hot food was also available.

Our room was located on a second floor overlooking the water. However, we also had access to a lower floor room (Before we moved to the room looking over the river!) that overlooked the car park and thought this was also a great room to stay in.

Based on our experience, we would both recommend and return back.
