A lot of locals turned their noses up when we said we were staying here but we couldn’t fault it.
Comfy bed, clean room, good shower: the hotel room holy trinity were all of an excellent standard. However, I get annoyed when hotel chains go out of their way to advertise their comfy, brand-name beds but then give you the cheapest and nastiest pillows possible.
We had a family room which was pretty much a suite: my daughter had her own room with a foldaway bed and her own tv, so she was delighted!
We didn’t have breakfast at the hotel as we preferred to explore the town, and £12 for continental breakfast seemed a bit steep.
The pool area is lovely, with jacuzzis and sauna and nicely appointed changing areas.
Bar is nice but it was a bit under-stocked: they had no Prosecco, red wine or apple juice the night we arrived!
The hotel is about a 10-15 minute walk to the town centre, so not that central but fairly quiet.
