Owner description: Opened in 1993 by Prince Edward, Inverness Botanic Gardens, formerly Inverness Floral Hall & Gardens, are an oasis of calm and beauty within walking distance of the city centre. With each new season the outside gardens are an explosion of colour and texture, and borders are planted to demonstrate a wide variety of plants and growing conditions. The impressive glasshouses reveal the drama of plant diversity ranging from the tropical rainforests to arid, heat scorched desert.

Very nice botanic garden. Loved the large heather tree. Talked with one of the gardeners about the different varieties. Not large but still worth seeing

About a 20 minute walk from city centre. Very small but quaint. Worth a visit if you like this type of thing. They have a cafe and have plants for sale.

I had planned go to visit the gardens when visiting Inverness based on the high ratings on TripAdvisor and it's high placing of things to do in Inverness. We found it slightly difficult to find and thought it would be signposted better. Anyway, it was pleasant and we spent about half an hour wallking around the different parts of the gardens and admiring the flowers. Small tea shop but decided not to use as drinks looked a little pricey.

A free entry garden run by a charity. Donations are appreciated. It has a tropical hot house and another with cactuses. Nice outside too with plenty of variety. There is also a cafe there.

This is somewhere that I haven't been in years so as we had friends staying with us it was a nice place to visit.
The Gardens aren't big but they are relaxing, just wander around. The greenhouses and hot houses are full of plants, some of them you can purchase. They also sell cut flowers in the cafe for a donation. Talking of the cafe, don't miss it as they do great coffee and cake.
For a free visit, what's not to like. Recommended.
