Although it only takes less than 30 minutes to drive to Pinewood Steading from Inverness, the location on a country hillside, with sheep grazing in the field next door, and glorious views of Beauly Firth across the valley, makes for a natural setting of peace and calm.
The master bedroom is gloriously large, and the main living and kitchen areas combine in an open setting so the views of the Valley and the Firth are always present.
Jane has added some personal touches, and has decorated with just enough quirky items to make everywhere feel homely, while the wood burner in the living area adds a real cosy feel in the evenings. We were only staying a few days but it immediately became a habit to get back at the end of the day and make straight for the fire to add to that feeling.
Overall the Steading is well equipped, with local produce and products adding to the individual feel (I loved the Scottish soaps and the welcome basket. When we left I “kidnapped” what remained of the whisky marmalade).
A perfect base to explore the area, and a comfortable setting to relax. Definitely somewhere to return to when we are in the area again.
A wonderful place to relax and appreciate the scenic beauty and grandeur of the highlands. The master bedroom is a large airy room, the living area and kitchen are blessed with stunning views of the surrounding area. The lodge has every facility anyone could wish for, including a great bathroom with a bath for soaking weary walkers muscles and a high pressure shower. The wifi is also excellent.
The place is great for dog owners, little things like an enclosed area at the rear with a seperate entry door and a hose for cleaning muddy paws. The area is excellent for both local walks and as a base for the more famous west highland walks. It is even convenient for a quick trip into Inverness.
Our first impression when we drove down the drive was Ooh this looks nice, Our impression when we walked inside after meeting Jane on the drive was WOW. The house is fresh clean and tidy right through and not over cluttered.
The Master bedroom is very big and airy and the smaller twin room is compact but big enough for a weeks stay for 2.
The living area is well equipped with smart tv and free sat, The house has WiFi but it is a community WiFi as you are so far away from normal utilities. The WIFI works well although lagged a few times if all using it but that is to be expected.
The kitchen is equipped enough to cook a full meal from scratch and basic condiments are available from previous guests, with 5 ring gas hob electric oven and grill, microwave, dishwasher and a washer drier it is a well equipped holiday dwelling. The views from the kitchen window over the Beauly firth are wonderful and across the fields behind the house you have highland cows.
Jane is a lovely host and very knowledgeable about the area and although we didn't need her assistance I'm sure she would do anything possible to help with your stay.
Pinewood Steading was the perfect place to spend our family holiday! Jane is a great host, she made us feeling at home straight away. We can nothing but very warmly recommend Pinewood Steading and would love to come back for a longer period of time...
Just returned from a great week at this property with friends and our extended family of 6 (well behaved) labradors. Stunning views from the property which was itself gorgeous and had everything we needed for a truly relaxing week.
Lovely welcome hamper on arrival and the Steading has lots of little touches which just add to the whole experience. Very comfortable, stylish accommodation.
The enclosed garden was perfect for us - the visits from the cows and sheep in the next field and the sunsets with glass of wine in hand will not be easily forgotten.
Lot's to do in the area, from dolphin watching to lovely Glen Affric and the owners provided a very helpful welcome pack including walk recommendations.
