“A wonderful week”
Reviewed 15 June 2015 for a stay in June 2015

We're just back from a fantastic week in Aviemore using 7 Railway Terrace as our base.

The cottage was absolutely ideal. Very clean and comfortable, and I can't think of anything more we could have needed. The high-chair and cot provided for our 1 year old made packing a bit lighter which was appreciated, and she just loved the trains passing the bottom of the garden (which are not at all intrusive and don't run often or at night... definitely a novelty not a compromise!)

The location is absolutely ideal, and being so close to the town center means popping to town for groceries, coffee and cake, meals or just the occasional beer were all so easy. Any number of great self-catering rentals can be had around the area, but none could surely match the convenience of this one's location! It really feels like a holiday when you can ditch the car and walk everywhere.

The large utility room at the front door is ideal for wet shoes and pushchairs, keeping the kitchen and living room clean and tidy. Really useful. In fact, the whole layout of the cottage works really well, and doesn't feel small or cramped.

The back garden is small, but fenced on all sides so totally safe for little ones to run around in, meaning we could just throw open the patio doors and not worry.

Negatives? Honestly, nothing comes to mind.

Heartily recommended, book with confidence! We WILL be back.

Hi Graeme,
It was great meeting you and your family and we're so glad you had such a lovely time. You were certainly lucky with the weather but there's so much to do that it doesn't always matter......Looking forward to having you back.

“Great base and cosy cottage!”
Reviewed 6 May 2015 for a stay in April 2015

Cottage was small but well equipped, with everything you could need for a comfortable week. Excellent base to explore National Park from, and just minutes from many shops and restaurants. Only slight downside was the trains going by the back garden - but they weren't too noisy! Would happily stay here again.

“Great cottage.”
Reviewed 12 April 2015 for a stay in April 2015

I stayed with a friend at No7 Railway Terrace. It was a great stay and we loved coming back there every evening. The cottage is quite spacious and comfy. Everything was very clean and necessities like toilet paper, kitchen roll, washing up liquid and soap were provided. The kitchen is really well equipped, the bathroom is enormous and has a good shower and the living room is comfortable with TV/DVD. A selection of books and DVDs is also available. Upstairs there are two bedrooms that are comfy as well, one smaller twin room and one bigger bedroom with a big king sized bed and a second TV. Fast wifi!
The bigger bedroom has a window to the garden that borders on the rails and during the day (not at night!) trains drive by the property regularly. You do hear the trains of course, but I never found it bothersome. The steam train is actually nice to look at! Apart from the trains the cottage is located in a quiet street with ample parking.
You can walk into the small centre of Aviemore within a few minutes and we used the cottage as a great base for daytrips around the Highlands and the Cairngorms. Even though we never got round to meeting Graham because we were out all day the contact before and during our stay at the cottage was really friendly.
We really enjoyed our stay at the cottage. I definitely recommend the cottage and would love to come back the next time I'm in the area.

“Another lovely cosy cottage”
Reviewed 9 March 2015 for a stay in March 2015

I stayed here last weekend with my husband and some friends. We have also stayed at no 14. Again everything was 100% very clean and tidy with all you need for self catering. Both properties are so warm and cosy. The log burner is lovely and a real treat.

“Very cosy cottage.”
Reviewed 18 February 2015 for a stay in January 2015

We stayed in this cottage at the end of January for four nights. We found the cottage very cosy and warm. The central heating system was quite new and kept the cottage at a nice temperature all day and night. There was also a multifuel stove in the living room. Within 30 minutes of this stove being on, the room was very very warm.
The bedrooms and beds were very comfortable. Thankfully the trains stopped running at night time so we had a very good sleep.
The kitchen was well equiped and new. We cooked several meals in the cottage and had every utensil we needed.
The bathroom was large and had a shower in the bath. The shower water pressure wasn't great but was more than adequete.
We used this cottage as a base for snowboarding and doing other activities in the area. It was always welcoming to return there.
We had a 6 month old baby with us and found it very handy that there was a high chair and a travel cot available for use.
Grahame (the owner) stopped by during our stay to make sure eveything was ok and we had all that we needed. He was there for a total of five minutes and was very curteous.
In conclusion, we would (and likely will) stay here again. Why pay £80 - £100 a night for a hotel room that sleeps two when cottages like this are available?
