“Disappointed.”
Reviewed 27 March 2016 for a stay in March 2016

The location is good if you want access to transport and local amenities and tourist attractions.
Not for people wanting peace quiet & privacy.
We were disappointed when entering the lodge on arrival to be met by what can only be described as a stale smell of alcohol. Also with some aspects of cleanliness in the accommodation eg cutlery & crockery that needed to be washed before use. Also the staining and damp/black marks on curtains.
Overall we did enjoy the stay but would not return to this accommodation.

“Cosy cabin”
Reviewed 5 May 2015 for a stay in May 2015

The owner Par is lovely, she kept me informed via email at each stage. (This may be specific to me but Pat's mails kept going into my junk, so worth double checking)

I must admit I had no idea where the cabin was in the park therefore had to ask around then eventually found it. I couldn't get a phone connection to check on a map - the cabin is located to the right before you go through the tunnel to Aviemore Holiday Park. It unfortunately has no views but is ideally located to walk into the centre, drive anywhere and is in short walking distance to the train station. Easy to walk to local restaurants. Its an ideal place to come to relax and get away from the faster moving pace of the cities. There is definitely something charming about staying in a log cabin.
We visited the first weekend in May, there was still snow on the Cairngorms therefore I packed hot water bottles incase the cabin was cold - it wasn't cold in the slightest!! It's very snug and cosy!
I couldn't find a list of amenities on the website for the cabin so thought it would be worth mentioning so you know whats included: the cabin has a small TV in the livingroom, SKY, board games, 3 seater & 2 seater couch, 4-chair dining room table, Hoover, kettle, tinfoil, cling film, washing up liquid, dishcloths, microwave, toaster, fridge/freezer, iron, ironing board, cot, highchair, coat hangers, oven & hob, cutlery, crockery, pans, liquid hand soap, toilet rolls, hair drier. Bathroom suite is new and shower is brilliant!!

There is unfortunately no wifi in the cabin and very little 3G/4G connection anywhere in Aviemore which made it difficult for us to play our days and where to eat. We didn't find many places with wifi so struggled with this.

Other than the wifi the cabin was perfect for us!

“Cosy and comfortable accomodation”
Reviewed 13 November 2014 for a stay in November 2014

We stayed here for the first week in November and knew the weather was going to be a bit unpredictable, so it was lovely to come back to a cosy and comfortable cabin after walking in the beautiful Cairngorms. The facilities are excellent, comfy bed with crisp fresh linen, soft towels and a good sized shower with a strong showerhead. The living area is warm & comfortable with two leather sofas and we really felt so at home we ended up staying in every evening rather than going out to eat! Pat was great to communicate with and it was a lovely touch to find a bottle of wine and a quirky pumpkin decoration on our arrival on Halloween.
The only small downside is there is no WiFi, which is really a necessity in this day and age. Although there are cafes in the village that offer free WiFi, it would be good if it was available in the cabin.
All the village amenities are within easy walking distance and we will definitely stay again if (when!) we return to this beautiful part of Scotland. We loved it.

“Yet Another Lovely Stay at Lurchers Cabin!”
Reviewed 5 August 2014 for a stay in June 2014

This was our second stay at Lurchers Cabin, Aviemore. Its the perfect base to see the sights of Scotland and the Highlands! Situated in a park of other cabins, its just a 5-10 minute walk into the centre. Theres a lovely pub next door, and its nearby to many restaurants and tourist attractions.

The cabin itself has a lovely balcony, where we sat out and enjoyed the surroundings. It has two cosy bedrooms and a nice kitchen/diner and lounge.

Its great value for money! I am sure we will return again!

“Our stay in lurchers cabin”

We stayed here for 4 nights while visiting Aviemore. It was clean, warm & had everything you would need for your stay, the shower was great but not a lot of room in the bathroom, the beds were comfy & warm, the tv in the living room could have done to be a bit bigger, don't think I've seen one as small!! It's only 5-10 mins walk to the town centre. There are trains running close by which you can hear clearly in the cabin. We were woken by them during the week as the first one was at 3am,then 7am then regularly throughout the day. All in all we enjoyed our stay but would take ear plugs next time!
