Deciding to try something new yesterday I booked this through 5pm opting for the 20% a la carte discount. On arriving it appears that the name of the restaurant has changed , possibly ownership too. Was greeted by a polite young woman who took no notice of my comment that I had pre booked but showed us to a table, which had been set for 3 people anyway. The place is huge and only one other couple there, it was 6.30pm. By the time we left there were another 4 people . I can't fault the staff , very attentive and the food was really nice but not sure it warranted the price without the discount. On average the mains are about £15.As mentioned it's a large upstairs room whose entrance you would walk past given it's got a new name , AGA Meze Palace, but the old sign is still up. No music and no atmosphere but the chef came out twice to check our meal was okay , nice touch. For some reason the baklava was covered in raspberry syrup with squirts cream! On leaving I asked how long it had been open and was told menu , chef etc changed 4-5 months ago and was handed a leaflet which offers a pre theatre for £5.99 . On checking today this restaurant is still on 5pm under the old name so be warned. I would visit again but only if there was a lunch or pre theatre offer available. The 4 stars are for the staff and the authentic food but they need to get their signage sorted and get some music going.
