The very first thing that struck me about the Artto Hotel was its proximity to Glasgow Central Station. We literally rolled out of bed less than an hour before our train and managed to stroll in on time. Its staff was friendly and funny, always ready to help us and accommodate our needs. The wifi was about average, but we got a better signal than the last hotel we stayed at (Premier Inn).
The rooms seemed quite small, but comfortable, especially if you're the kind of traveller who only uses the room to sleep in and spends the rest of the day exploring the city. The price was very good, and the breakfast options would probably entice non-vegetarians, offering Scottish specialties like haggis alongside the more conventional options. Vegetarians, look elsewhere, unless you can resign yourself to having cereal only.
With a location like this, being as close to the train station as it is (almost opposite to it), I was very worried about the noise, but there was none. And I am a very light sleeper. (All though I was carrying ear buds with me.) My friend, who is a deep sleeper but takes a long time to fall asleep if there are disturbances, reported no problems at all.More
