The term "West End" may be larger or smaller than your map shows as withihn the broad designation there are sub-neighborhoods.

I love the vibe of Glasgow's West End but the streets are becoming very dirty.
No sign of street sweepers, the street drain covers are full of old leaves and litter. It's expensive to live here; very high rateable value and even residents parking charges are high.... yet there seems little in terms of servicing by the local authority.
Unemptied litter bins, unswept streets and large commercial bins overfilled and unemptied left beside pavements. It's a disgrace.
The area is full of tourists and fabulous walks, parks and buildings. Time the Council did something about it.
I live in a wee southern Scottish town; almost a village.... and our streets are cleaned weekly no litter left around either and our Coucil is cash strapped......so wake up Glasgow before tourists depart.

Glasgow's West End has something for everyone. Whether you want to enjoy the Botanic Gardens, look at some interesting architecture, or head to the shops, there is something here for you.

Lots of nice places to eat or go for a coffee in the West end. If you take the underground to Hillhead you come out on to Byers Road which is always busy and popular with students and locals alike. Similar feel to Stock bridge in Edinburgh with some unusual shops and bars as well.

The stroll is enjoyable and the lanes are dotted with numerous bars and cafes to while away the time watching the world go past .
