My husband and I stayed here about three years or so ago and had a wonderful stay. It is in a good spot. Very close to George Square and Buchanan Street and the bus station. Waxy O'Connors Pub is next door and accessible via internal access from the Hotel. It offers good food.

We stayed again at the hotel late last year. The stay was not so wonderful this time. I understand that we had booked a different kind of room but as we booked this through our wonderful national carrier's site (Qantas), it was difficult to ascertain what kind of room we had (naughty Qantas). As it turned out we had a terrible room, much smaller and the beds (we had twins this time around) were shocking! There was also the case of the singing toilet... I was a bit annoyed that it is not recognised that you have booked the room via your wonderful national carrier's loyalty site (Qantas Platinum) but the booking comes up at the hotel under another general hotel booking site (naughty Qantas). We booked the room quite in advance and paid up front. When the bed got too much I asked if we could be moved and was told it was probably not possible. As the bed was actually causing me pain, I kind of had to put my foot down a bit, line up at reception the next morning and managed to get a better room with a better bed for the last night. We need twin beds due to health issues. A twin room should not mean a less than desirable standard. We had a friend in tow whose room I booked via the same website and her room was not much better. I felt a little embarrassed as I had been raving about this hotel for so long, she thought we were coming to a place quite different to what it ended up being. We did have executive lounge access with our room, however when we went up there, it was being used as a break out room for a meeting/workshop that was going on so when these folks were 'released' from their meeting, they took over the lounge, most of the seats and walked around talking loudly on their mobiles. Even the Restaurant was terrible in comparison to the first time we stayed here. All in all a bit of a disappointing experience. I think something needs to be done about external booking sites and the information they contain about the rooms. This information should match exactly what is on the hotel's own website. This is one of the reasons why I choose generally to book directly with the hotel and will return to doing this. Shame about this stay.

Lovely hotel. Clean and cosy. Front desk friendly and helpful. Room lovely bed comfy. Free mini bar included. Had lounge access. Not as cosy as last time as no open fire now. Nibbles a little poor Probably not worth the extra this visit. Breakfast expensive but nice food. Dining area and view very nice. Hotel was a great option for access to Queen st station. Although a little expensive, I Would recommend this Hotel This was our second visit.

We stayed here for the second time, and it was an excellent experience again. The hotel is quite small, so there is no hustle and bustle like in a big chain hotel. It is located right in the heart of downtown Glasgow, with everything reachable on foot in a matter of minutes. The staff were again very friendly and helpful. The breakfast was standard, but the view over the Glasgow roof tops from the restaurant is quite a sight in the early morning. The rooms are comparatively spacious (for Scotland) and decorated in a kind of ethnic Scottish theme. An interesting amenity we haven't seen anywhere else before was the free 'minibar', which consisted mainly of three different types of spirits. How very much in line with the stereotype! :-D

For Christmas my husband and I were lucky enough to receive a voucher for the hotel. As we had tickets for the theatre we decided to make a night of it and use our voucher towards an overnight stay and added breakfast as previous experience had been good. This visit however I was disappointed the executive room on the first floor was small and overlooked a side alleyway, executive lounge in the afternoon had cake and scones lying out uncovered, in the evening there was no choice in lager other than Tennents and only Chardonay wine. The evening food was nuts, crisps and olives and all a bit thrown together. The bed was comfortable and we did have a good sleep. The breakfast however was not of the standard I would expect from this hotel and the money charged. I ordered eggs Benedict the muffin was cold and untoasted, the ham was dry cure prosciutto, 1 egg the white was all runny and uncooked where the other egg yolk had burst all around the plate. I pushed the plate to the side the waitress lifted the untouched food without any surprise or comment. My husband helped himself to a cooked buffet which he said was ok. I would have expected a hotel of this reputation to have cooked this to order. All in all a very disappointing visit.

Dear FayDoc. Thank you for taking the time to review your stay with us. I am sorry that your experience fell short of our usual standards. Ideally it is good to advise of issues whilst you are here and allow us the opportunity to attempt to rectify any of the issues encountered. With regards to the goods within the lounge, I am sorry that the afternoon tea hadn't been replenished when you arrived into the lounge,.
It is disappointing to read you felt the evening snacks where "thrown together" as we put these into black dishes and on a display stand and have never had negative feedback regarding this. We do only offer 1 lager and 1 type of white wine, this is a complimentary lounge and not a fully serviced bar, which is why the offering is restricted, we do however have a variety of wine and beers available for purchase. Once again my sincere apologies. Regards Monica
