We stumbled across Iberica whilst on a trip to Glasgow and we couldn’t have been happier.
Decor was amazing, cocktails & food even better & the staff were super friendly.
We will definitely return to Iberica closer to home!

Popped in on our lunch break and we were warmly welcomed by their host who sat us in a lovely sunny corner of the restaurant - really felt like we were somewhere in Spain. They have a fantastic lunch menu that was really good value and served by our very attentive waiter! Would definitely return to try their other menus.

This lovely looking building had been on our wish list for a while as lovers of all things Spanish food wise . Whilst in city centre & fancying a beer , this would be the ideal way to check it out - with a view to doing a later date evening full meal . Of course, once seated at the bar , couldn’t resist ordering some tapas . Regretfully, sad to say , found the whole experience a bit underwhelming -in terms of service , value for money , and atmosphere . Staff seemed to predominantly consist of distracted “ micro -managers” , more interested in each other than putting forward any kind of customer connection. Looking around this lunch time , also didn’t fancy the table layout( too close together in a straight row) & this with the overpriced , limited menu , would discourage me from a return visit in the evening . Sadly, like so many “ Spanish” places in Glasgow , it just doesn’t push the authentic button

Dear Jon I,

Thank you for writing a review of us here in Iberica. Obviously, not the review we like to see, but we try and take each review to progress forwards.

One thing I would like to point out though, is that we have a menu consisting of upwards of 30 dishes, all of which use the best ingredients from Spain, hence the slightly higher cost than you are probably used to. The menu has been created by Nacho Manzano, who is a 3 Michelin starred chef, and some of the dishes on our menu here in Glasgow, are also on his menu in Asturias in Spain. While we don't offer hundreds of "traditional" tapas, we twist them, pushing some bounds of Spanish gastronomy, as is our ethos.

I hope you do return, so we can show you something different, yet still Spanish, other than chorizo in red wine.

Regards

David Warrender

Never been here before but we decided to pop in for a last drink on Saturday night before we all went home.
What a beautiful place, lovely decor, comfy chairs and tables as well as bar stools and tables.
The restaurant looked really busy as was the bar area but we managed to get a table with comfy seats.
Waiter service and our bottle of cava came with a plate of 4 snacks.
A really friendly atmosphere and plenty of waiting staff in evidence.
Toilets also clean and beautifully decorated.
Will definitely return, and will eat in the restaurant the next time

Visited here while in Glasgow with my partner for a concert. We booked a table for 5pm and when we arrived we were advised our table wasn’t ready. We were invited to wait at the bar, which we did and ordered a drink. 20 minutes later we were advised our table still wasn’t ready as the people currently at it were taking longer than expected so they had sorted another table......couldn’t have just done that when we arrived?

We were taken to our table and advised our waiter would be with us in a few minutes with olives and menus. 10 minutes later we were still without menus (or olives for that matter). I could accept this if it was really busy, it wasn’t and there were at least 6 staff milling about looking like they were happy to do anything other than wait tables. We got the attention of a waiter and asked for menus, no apology but he brought the menus and explained how tapas worked. Still no olives but we no longer cared.

We looked at the menus and eventually someone came and took our orders. We ordered bread and olive oil at the suggestion of the waiter, it never arrived! The main tapas arrives as and when it’s ready which is fine and typical of some tapas restaurants. When some of our food arrived we took the opportunity to order another drink, no one had asked if we wanted another since we were initially seated at the bar. Again they took an age to arrive.

We decided against desserts or more drinks due to the shocking service, we weren’t actually offered, even when they took the last of our plates away. So we flagged down a waiter, asked for the bill, left a small tip for the food and left disappointed.

This restaurant should be really good. The food is lovely and it’s in a great location but attentive service should be part of the experience and it’s distinctly lacking here. I’m not sure what the staff are paid to do but it’s clearly not to attend to customers.

We visit Glasgow frequently and won’t be making a return to this restaurant unfortunately.

Dear Smacx2,

I am sorry to hear about your visit here to Iberica in Glasgow. As I hope you can see from other reviews, we pride ourselves in our service standards, and if that falls below where the guest expects, then we need to do better.
