These people running this house were the greatest hosts we have ever experienced.
They went out of their way to make sure we were looked after in every way, even to giving up their private digs for a couple of nights. Food was beyond belief, service out of this world. John even took us in his own car to my old house I left in 1949.

John thank you somuch. Our trip was to show my son about Scotland, you made my trip and his. This is wat Scottish people arre.

Chosen for location as attending a music event in Shawlands but would stay in the area again as interesting local parks, gardens etc, free parking & excellent transport links to City centre. Well maintained, sympathetically decorated, beautiful sandstone property, spotless comfortable bedroom/ wet room and use of lovely sitting room and kitchen should we have had time to use them. Couldn't fault John the owner for his superb customer service and shear enthusiasm for informing guests about the area. Excellent fruit platter the first morning and a yummy full Scottish the next. All in all a perfect stay and would recommend.

I couldn't be at the hotel. The booking was made though booking.com, and asked to cancel by the property asserting that it was fully booked. But the availability the day after was still there at higher price.
Good way to optimize profit in high-demand times.

So disappointed to see your review, especially for the fact that you never set foot in our property and that is what TripAdvisor is all about. As explained we were in fact fully booked - due to a special offer we had running - hence the slightly cheaper price. Was concerned though with regards to your very abrupt message, we normally don't deal with guests like you, shame that there are vindictive people out there using Trip advisor as a platform to potentially damage the reputations of B&B's. Unsure to why you would then leave a review even after explanation... strange.

Booked for 2nights and John (the owner) could not do enough. Very informative of what's was in the local area. Very keen to help us with travel arrangements to help with our stay. Breakfast was great with a good choice and served with a huge smile could not do enough for us. Room was large and comfortable. Bed linen and towels very clean and fresh.area felt very safe to walk around during the evening. Only one train stop from Glasgow central.
Would definitely return when looking at a couple of nights in Glasgow.

It's no surprise that this is the no.1 rated guest house in Glasgow. The accommodation itself is a lovely period building, the beds are very comfortable, the rooms are spotless, the breakfast delicious and the kitchen where you can make a cuppa or even cook a meal makes it a home away from home. What really stands out though is the owner (John), whose warm welcome and focus on doing whatever he can to make your stay a good one was just brilliant. We were completely looked after for the whole stay. My mum has a disability which meant that we had lots of asks during the stay, instead of feeling like we were high maintenance or a bit of a nuisance, we were made to feel that nothing was an issue and John and his partner bent over backwards to look after us and accommodate all of our requests. Thanks for a lovely stay!
