We booked this beautiful lodge for the weekend of my son's 18th birthday. He lives and works in Dundee where my husband and I grew up (we now live in Essex.) It provided a perfect location, home from home, that we could all be together as a family for the weekend, joined by extended family on the Sunday for a barbecue. It's only 15-20 minutes from Dundee and although it's much closer to St Andrews, that didn't feature in our plans this trip. The house and kitchen were fantastically equipped for catering a family party with more than enough plates, serving dishes, utensils etc. The host very kindly met us on the day we arrived to bring out the gas barbecue and also gave us a small tennis net for the children to play with. (There's also a wide collection of board games that we discovered too late and didn't take the opportunity to play.) The open plan living space and kitchen along with the mezzanine area over looking the kitchen provided a bright and sociable space for everyone. We were fortunate with the weather so were also able to make use of the generous amount of outdoor furniture. In the evening when it became chilly we lit the log burner and enjoyed the warmth and light it gave. Everyone that came to visit was very complimentary of the lodge and would have liked to stay too!
The upstairs bedrooms are huge and with both having beautiful en suite bathrooms and luxury towels and bedding, everyone felt as though they were in a five star hotel.
If the occasion arrises again we will definitely look to book here to stay - we may even have to create a reason to stay.
Claremont Lodge is a luxurious house but at the same time feels like a home from home due to all the extra touches not found in other holiday homes - flowers, Easter eggs and a well stocked pantry to name a few! Layout of house was perfect to meet the needs of an older relative as well as areas to allow everyone to have their own space. We also entertained extended family and again lots of space to be able to do so! Perfect location to enjoy St Andrews and explore the villages along the East Neuk of Fife. This property definitely deserves its 5 star rating!
The house is just super! The downstairs accommodation is well planned and although the house is a relatively new build it has character and the views across the fields are great. Although January isn't the best of times for good weather we were lucky enough to watch the sun go down from the beautiful windows in the kitchen.
The bedrooms are spacious and comfortable. The whole place is well equipped and the owners are obviously thoughtful people as there were nice touches everywhere. The log burning stove makes the living space cosy though it's a large space.
We loved our stay. We left very relaxed.
We were thrilled with the house, views, location and the ease of actually booking it. Definitely recommend a stay.

We stayed at the Lodge for four nights whilst accompanying one of our children as she began another year at St Amdrews. It was quite simply perfect! The house is comfortable and tastefully put together. The thought and consideration put into every tiny detail and aspect of the accommodation and facilities is remarkable. We didn't want to leave and will definitely be back!
