Description: The Peat Inn is owned by award winning Chef and columnist Geoffrey Smeddle and his wife Katherine. With Geoffrey at the heart of the kitchen and Katherine's warmth and care filling the restaurant, they have been successful in building on the very fine reputation of one of Scotland's most cherished destinations. The Inn has existed on this spot since the 1700s. Today, the Michelin starred restaurant with rooms continues to welcome guests who appreciate the special and very personal experience which is the hallmark of The Peat Inn. Three small dining rooms make up the restaurant, providing an intimate setting for lunch or dinner. Each room is also available for private parties if required. The reception lounge with its deep sofas and open log fire, creates an atmosphere which is elegant and refined and made all the more enjoyable by the friendly and attentive service. A few steps from the restaurant is The Residence where eight individually designed luxury suites offer the opportunity for a rather special night away, where the pleasures of the table spill over into a charming over-night setting. From your aperitif upon arrival to coffee and a liqueur before you have to depart, we are sure you will enjoy every moment of the wonderful cuisine and hospitality at The Peat Inn.

Spent two nights and ate at the restaurant both nights. The room was of a very high standard and very extremely comfortable, with views of alpacas on the farm next door! Sherry and brownies were a nice touch. An excellent breakfast is served in the room and there is a good range of choice. The restaurant is Michelin starred and the quality of food is up to this high standard. The first night we had the set menu, and the second we had the ‘taster’ menu. The majority of the dishes were excellent with only the odd one being a little bland. The ‘amuse bouche’ were extremely nice. Service is attentive and polite, although I don’t want younger staff to call us “guys”...perhaps I’m getting too old. Didn’t have time to arrange a mortgage so most of the wine list was unavailable. Close to a sunny St. Andrews, so plenty to do during the day. Expensive weekend but worth every penny, already booked again for next year.

Just a stones throw from St Andrews, which is great for golfers like me. Very nice ambience, attentive service and a good selection of wines on the list. The menu is well balanced and dishes are nicely presented. Enjoyable, to say the least.

We returned to the Peat Inn for our 2nd time on Saturday and again stayed over in one of their beautiful suites and had dinner in the restaurant.
The staff were all wonderful, Tracey on reception couldn't have done more to be helpful. The views from the room are beautiful, watching the Alpacas in the field is very calming!
Dinner was wonderful as usual, 'fine dining at it's best' with attentive and courteous staff.
Breakfast in the morning is delivered to your room by polite and friendly staff who lay everything out for you so you literally just have to sit down and eat - bliss !
Thanks for another great experience The Peat Inn, - until the next time..

This was our second visit, first time was a Saturday overnight stay with the tasting menu which we thought was a wonderful experience. I was given a birthday gift of the set lunch menu for two, therefore, my wife and I looked forward to sampling this wonderful food again, and we were not disappointed. The staff were very friendly, welcoming and professional. We were tempted to chose from the a la carte menu but thought that would be disrespectful to my very kind friend.
Each of the three courses was an amazing experience for our taste buds. Fantastic value for £25 as our meal also included an amuse-bouche plus more.
We are looking forward to the next time we are able to enjoy this most delicious food .
