Nice and large shared 6-beds room. Breakfast is fine but far from impressive. Friendly people at the desk and bar. Very convenient location, close to center and central station. Bad luck the elevator was broken for the 5 days of our stay (we were on the 5th and top floor).

the rooms and beds were big in comparison to other hotels I have been, the location was great as it is located close to the main tourist street of Edinburgh, so the surrounding area is really safe - a real safe stay in this hostel! ;)

Not that there is anything wrong with it, but this hostel was very plain. It appears to double as student accommodation. I stayed on the 5th floor for 4 nights, and the whole time the general lift was out of order, and then 2 days in they locked guests out of using the lift in the student area... seriously, where's the flexibility? If you're after something a bit more social and fun, book something smaller and quirkier than this.

The furniture is very nice, the wifi worked without any problems and there are enough sockets in the hole hotel.
The breakfast is terrible for nearly £6. I was in a lot lof hostels, where it was much better for less money.
Biggest problem, was that I had the room direct over the bar (104), so I didn't sleep well.

The hostel is fine, rooms clean and facilities good. The down side is the bar which has an outdoor area within a courtyard and the noise from here was terrible - I even considered leaving around 0200 to sleep in my car.
