This two bedroom flat is located very close to the main road through Corstorphine, with many and varied shops nearby .i.e. pubs, grocery store, charity shops and many small individual shops. The one and only drawback we found ,was the access via a fairly steep stair but if you are fitter ( and more able ) than we are , this flat is also very handy for the zoo as it is a few bus stops away. The owners are very contactable and take great pleasure in presenting their flat in the highest standard.
This quaint flat was ideal for our needs. More than adequate with everything you need , kitchen supplied with tea, coffee, sugar .condiments , washing supplies with wash line in courtyard which is a lovely little Sun trap .....replace what you use (paying forward ) , ..comfy beds .fluffy towels ,The local amenities were perfect , a few steps away from your font door. Supermarket ,Butchers, Iceland, Chemists, Beauty Salon, Greggs , Subway ,Cafes ,Restaurants and pubs. Three buses to get to city centre are ..12, 31, 36.. £4.00 day ticket. Only on Lothian buses!
Charlie the Landlord is always eager to help in any way he can , thanks Charlie.
Would highly recommend this accommodation for visits to our wonderful of Edinburgh..
The hosts were so helpful and easy to work with! We were not traveling with a phone, yet they arranged to meet us and even gave us advice on the easiest way to travel there which really helped.
The flat is cute and comfortable, but in an older building with the quirks that come with that. We enjoyed the extra space a 2 bedroom flat offered us during our stay and took advantage of having a kitchen and a washing machine to use. Those amenities certainly saved us time and and money that we could spend on enjoying Edinburgh.
However, we would not stay here again due to the location. It is a 12 pound cab ride from the train station or airport. It is right between both and close to NO sights. Each day we took the bus into the city center which was convenient and easy to do. However, 3 days of bus fares for our group plus the cost of the cab upon arrival and airport bus at the end really added up! We spent over 60 pounds on traveling to and from this location to the sights. And with the distance involved, we did not go back and rest at our flat then to go out again. Once we took the bus all the way back to the flat, we stayed in for the rest of the night. Our group would have much preferred staying in a hotel room closer to the Royal Mile. We would have seen and experienced even more of this wonderful city.
Charles was an outstanding landlord. He went above & beyond to make our visit as seamless as possible. Definitely be back. Location is excellent for local amenities & for public transport to see the sights of Edinburgh & to get to/from airport. Beds comfy. Everything you need was in the apartment. Good privacy too.
Great communications, a warm welcome from Charlie, free parking just round the corner. Very well situated with Wetherspoons, cafes, Sainsbury's & numerous shops very close by as well as a bus-stop to get into town - much easier & cheaper than driving in. A homely feel to the flat with good wifi, comfortable beds, sofas, tv/dvd & plenty of kitchen equipment. We'll be back!
