“Comfortable flat in central location”
Reviewed 21 May 2017 for a stay in May 2017

Very well equipped kitchen, lovely, comfortable flat walking distance to all major points of interest and directly across the street from Valvona and Crolla - heaven!
As noted in other reviews, the bedroom faces the back garden and is quiet.

“Charming apartment in old building, very conveniently located”
Reviewed 5 November 2014 for a stay in September 2014

My husband and I, a retired couple, stayed at Gayfield Place Apartment for the five days of our first visit to Edinburgh from the USA. It is a charmingly decorated one-bedroom unit in a very old building, with high ceilings, broad plank wood floors, and tall windows. As the advertisement says, it is on the first floor of the building, which in Europe means that it is one level up. Even though it is on a busy street, the bedroom, on the back side of the unit, is very quiet. The kitchen is fully furnished, and we especially appreciated the clothes washer--we were able to wash all our clothes before we left Edinburgh to continue our travels. We noticed that the floors were not perfectly level, and that the plumbing occasionally had some aberrations, but all these "imperfections" were to be expected given the age of the building and, in our view, contributed to its old world charm. The mattress on the full-size bed was not quite as firm and comfortable as it might have been, as it seemed to tip or lean somewhat to the most accessible side. But overall it was a most comfortable stay, and we would stay there again if ever we re-visit Edinburgh. The rental management company was extremely responsive and accommodating; they met us at the building to provide the keys and some orientation, and answered our questions in a most timely fashion. Best of all was the very convenient location, less than half a mile and an easy walk from Waverley Train Station and near many restaurants and several food marts. Thank you for a most pleasant stay!
