“Excellent Flat & Location”

Loved this flat! It is located in Canongate near Palace of Holyrood and is just a short walk from so many historical sites such as Canongate Kirk, Holyrood, Calton Hill, Dynamic Earth, and Royal Mile. The flat was exceptionally clean and I felt safe there as a solo female traveler. There is a great pub (Kilderkin) right below the flat, but thankfully, the bedroom is on the back side of the building so it was quiet at night. The owner, Mr. Brown, thoughtfully provided tea, cereals, and a few snacks that were quite welcoming after a long train ride from London and also responded quickly to emails. The flat also had a full kitchen along with a washer/dryer, a nice small balcony, and comfortable bed. I would certainly stay here again and highly recommend it. There were so many nearby sites to visit and was a comfortable walk to many different areas. It was also just a 10-15 minute walk to Waverley Station for treks out of the city. Additionally, wifi was provided for free and worked perfectly throughout my stay. Mr. Brown also provided info for nearby restaurants, takeaway spots, and additional historical sites.

“Splendid”

My husband was skeptical of the accommodation and then David proved him wrong. The very warm welcome, the attention to details, the toys and books for Zoe,, the restaurants suggested, the attraction places within walking distance, the carefully arranged accommodation guide, the chocolates and sweets, the warm clothing for Zoe, oooooh, I could go on... David is/was a perfect host.
With reluctance we left the Flat but we are extremely glad we found such a lovely place owned by very lovely people;we definitely will be returning.

Thank you again David, for helping make our 2015 Christmas holiday very very memorable and Zoe misses the aprons.

Happy new year to you and your family.

“Lovely flat in a superb location”

This is a superbly presented flat, very clean and with everything one could wish for in a holiday flat. It was very cosy to come back to after a cold days sightseeing. A true home from home, except that this one is in one of the most interesting streets in Edinburgh!
In the 4 days I was there, I saw Nichola Sturgeon walking up Canongate and Sir Bradley Wiggens cycle up!
The location couldn't be better: Scottish Parliament literally just over the road, the Palace of Holyrood just over the road from that. The tour buses pass down Canongate and my top tip is to buy one of the48 hour tickets that allow you to use all the different tour buses. Then, wherever in Edinburgh you are, you know that catching any one of the brightly coloured tour buses will get you home. They are also useful to get from one side of the city to another when you simply can't walk any further!

“Perfect flat in a great location”
Reviewed 29 August 2015 for a stay in August 2015

We were concerned when we rented this flat that the location on Cannongate would be very noisy. In fact, it was only noisy on Saturday night because of the pub on the ground floor, otherwise it was very quiet. Although small, it is newly renovated in a very thoughtful way so we did not feel cramped.

The owner thoughtfully provided milk and snacks and brought us huge bottles of water when the city water supply was cut off (this affected an entire section of the city, not just our flat.)

The number 35 bus stops just outside the flat and is very useful for getting around. There is also a taxi stand just down the street. I cannot imagine a better location!

Highly recommended.
