“Ignore the bad review”

I came for lunch with my wife back in January and the food was amazing. The place was full and the owner still gave her 100%, she gave time to chat with us, nd we meet her husband who was the chef cooking all the lovely food. M sure she will remember us 'as where in a bit of hurry at the end to pick our wee one from school'.
A true family run bussiness that deserve the good reputation.

Service friendly and informative. Wide choice of food. Very pleasant and friendly atmosphere, varied clientele. Flourless Chocolate Cake even more delicious than previous visit. Special dietary requirements catered for.

“Something for everyone”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 16 February 2012

This is a place where authentic French cooking is on offer - while front of house they (or really, she) couldn't be more friendly and flexible. Limited menu but that's for the best in an operation of this size. They may need to decide soon if they are going to be a full-scale restaurant or a drop-in cafe. And the noisy children may be a put-off for some - but this is, overall, a great find, with a real sense of local community and vivacity about it. We'll be back!

“relaxed, friendly, quality food and great value”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 15 February 2012

Just left Water of Leith Cafe Bistro after dinner with family. Ok, so it was valentines night and we were 3 generations of the same family so not very romantic.
The Cafe bistro does not normally open in the evening, but for special occasions it does .... and it is well worth finding out when, because the food is terrific and great value. Authentic French cooking........ and quality wines, but no attempt to rip customers off . It is a little off the beaten track, but well worth the effort.

“Brilliant place!!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 14 February 2012

What a great place! I enjoyed a sunday lunch at the water of leith cafe with friends. The menu is fab, tough choice, I fancied eveything! We were very well looked after by a young waitress, the cafe is comfortable, nicely decorated and very children friendly. Cant wait to go back!
