Owner description: Arthur's Seat is one of four hill forts, dating from around 2,000 years ago. Situated within Holyrood Park, as well as it's rich cultural heritage, the park offers walks, solace, wildlife, volcanic geology and unparalleled vistas of the city from its many vantage points. The park has several Site of Special Scientific Interest (SSSI) designations due to its exceptional range of grassland habitats and its internationally important volcanic geology. Ranger service on site.

On those rare sunny days in Edinburgh this is a great activity! You can get to the top in about half an hour if you're really going for it, but to properly enjoy the views it's worth going a bit slower. Not many better sights than looking down on Edin from the top!

Definitely a must-see in Edinburgh!! The view was magnificent even before we got to the very top. I would definitely recommend.

we went up on Arthurs Seat and did enjoy the (a little bit) dangerous tour. we went the normal path which took us about an hour while the weather was starting to get bad. reaching the top we didn‘t have the „surrounding“-looks we expected because of snow and gusty winds but it was a good ecperience anyway. be aware in wet conditions especially downhill, slippery stones and gras make it somehow an adventure to return carefully.

So, great parking at the bottom of the hike (thank you). Be prepared in you sneakers and breathable clothing because this hike is for real. It's literally all up hill until you get to the summit. My goal this round was just to go up about half way, and my calves were burning. The view even from that hight was amazing back over the city. We really enjoyed the vies and the fresh air--and the exercise in the middle of the vacation was great too. Your back gets tired from all the standing. A hike as great to get thinks going again! Oh, and the kids with their never-ending energy LOVED it.

We were lucky enough to get a few sunny hours on the long Easter weekend, and despite it being a bit muddy, took to 30 minute walk up to Arthur's Seat. The views are beautiful and it's just so relaxing when your at the top and just chilling out after the sometimes steep climb. If you're feeling a bit like a break from the city for an hour or two I would absolutely recommend taking the time walk up there.
