Greetings from Faroe Islands.
We three came by plane to Edinburgh from the Faroes on Monday, Holy Monday, and rented a car at the airport.
At COME BEN THE HOOSE we were warmly welcomed by the host Ann, who showed us around and explaned about everything that we could think of to ask about. She had even provided us with food for some days.
We made some trips to the center of Edinburgh, by bus as recomended by Ann, and visited the Castle, the Royal Mile, Diagonal Alley and a lot of other places, including the grave of Lord Voldemort.
We had a car, and since early easter isnt midsummer, we had some good trips around the Edinburgh area, Portobello, Leith and to the east, we were all the way to Dunbar by way of the small roads and villages. In East Fortune we had our first chance to set foot in a supersonic Concorde airliner and in Mungoswells we bumped into a Motormuseum, very interesting.
Is worth mentioning that shopping is “interesting” around Edinburgh.
Thank you very much for a fine week in COME BEN THE HOOSE and thank you to our attentive and caring host Ann
All the best

This place is so cosy, clean and welcomming. I guess there is no better place for smaller families in that area for Ann is such a great host and it's hard to express how nice our stay was we all felt at home very quickly even the child in our group, a girl of six. There are all the things needed for a stay, even toys, many guide books for Edinburgh and Scotland as a whole as well as many basic necesssties. The beds are great and we had no problem getting our dinners done in the small, tidy kitchen .The hosts are caring and the house is good to reach via Lothian Buses. And it isn't far to Portobello Beach . The basic shopping is no problem either, there is a fine wee Spar near by. I can only recommend Ben the Hoose.
Come Ben the Hoose was perfect in every way, lovely little cottage in a great location, Ann was a wonderful host and we appreciated a very well stocked welcome pack. Nothing was too much trouble for her, we will most certainly be returning when we are next in Edinburgh.
Thank you Ann for your kindness, hope to see you again soon.

'Come Ben the Hoose' is ideally located just a few miles from the centre of Edinburgh in the Duddingston / Portabello area. This makes it a perfect base for day trips to a huge selection of events and attractions which are to be found in the district. Road links to all the Lothian are good. Bus services are close by and very reliable. The house itself is so quiet and comfortable it really is a home away from home. Very well appointed with everything you need for an enjoyable stay, including a generous welcome pack and a warm personal greeting that makes you feel immediately at home. Hosts Ann & Gordon seem to go above and beyond to make sure their guests are satisfied with their time in this amazing city.
This is a lovely little cottage in a very quiet residential area, with shops nearby. Ann was a very kind and welcoming hostess with lots of information. Very close to a bus and a short journey into the city. Very clean and had everything we needed. Would not hesitate to stay here again and recommend it to everyone.
