A great 1.5 hours to enjoy the luxury of the royal yacht on a cold and wintery April morning. Highlights include: royal bedrooms, games deck, dining room and sitting rooms. Also very interesting to see the accommodation of the sailors (yotties). There’s a sweet shop on board and a tea room. Remember to use Blue Peter badges for free child entry if you have them!! Plenty to see and do in ocean terminal too.

It sounds like you had a wonderful time exploring all five of Britannia’s decks. As you mention, during the tour you can visit the original NAAFI to sample some of our delicious fudge, all handmade on board, and enjoy the wonderful views over the Firth of Forth from our Royal Deck Tea Room. Many thanks for visiting The Royal Yacht Britannia, and for your lovely review.

Spent an interesting couple of hours on board this lovely yacht. Lots to see and audio commentary excellent which gives you lots of information about each area you were in. Had a lovely coffee and scone in restaurant. Overall great value for money to view and learn about this historic vessel.

have to say I really enjoyed my trip here ,the contrast between staff levels and the royal areas is much the same as any fine country houses that we have visited . personally I fine the working arias far more interesting, I like to see how life was on board ship and can appreciate the fine decor, but I cannot help but feel mixed feelings to the privileged lifestyle of the extremely wealthy .

the tea rooms are well worth a visit (even if a tad expensive ) with some fantastic views over the port and hills beyond.

once again all staff very welcoming Scotland sure exceeds expectations when it come to customer service

It sounds like you had a very enjoyably tour of Britannia. We are glad that you found the tour to be so interesting, and will be certain to pass on your kind words regarding our staff, who all work hard to ensure every visitor’s experience aboard Britannia is extra special. As you mention, there is a significant difference between the elegant State Apartments and the working part of the ship, however, whenever the Royal Yachtsmen return to Britannia for their Annual Working party, they speak so fondly of their time on board. Many thanks for visiting The Royal Yacht Britannia, and for your five-star review.

Do not miss this. It is a fabulous insight into the world of the royal family but goes much further than that. Very well organised, logical and informative. Excellent restaurant half way through the visit, friendly staff and no restrictions on taking photographs. It was suggested that the tour would take 90 minutes but it took a lot longer than that a very good audio commentary.
