Visited here at the weekend for a two night stay. So pleased we found this apartment. Was met on time at the apartment and given a crash course on how everything worked and given keys.
Apartment is on the royal mile in and people watching from the window with a glass of wine in your hand is a must!
The apartment is warm. homely & cosy. We loved it so much we stayed in the Saturday night!
I wouldn't reccomend to people with walking difficulties due to the turret stairway( which i LOVED) and the royal mile being on a hill.

Will def return and recommend to others.

“Location, Location and A Dose of Home Comfort”
Reviewed 4 October 2013 for a stay in October 2013

While I researched where to stay in Edinburgh for weeks, I kept coming back to this property. The recommendations, location and photos seemed to be just what I was looking for since I was traveling solo. I wanted to be in the middle of things but also have some of the comforts of home like a kitchen/fridge and comfy place to relax after a hectic day sightseeing.

Ladystairs did not disappoint. From the fabulous greeting and overview of the place from Dave (awesome guy) to the well-equipped apartment, it was all I had wanted and more. It's incredibly clean, had a fully equipped kitchen (with washer and dryer), heavenly bed but most of all, it has THE location.

Just outside the door and around the corner is where all of the tour buses for the city stop. You literally are there in 30 seconds, depending on how fast you descend the stairs. The day I took the city tour, I would stop in a location, make purchases, ride the bus back, hop off, deposit things in the apartment, freshen up and be back down by the time the next bus arrived.

You're also a block away from Edinburgh Castle, a fantastic selection of restaurants in all directions and plenty of touristy shops. To walk to the Waverly train station is literally 10 minutes at most and you can cross Waverly bridge in about as much time and be in the upper end shopping district. There's a grocery (Tesco) that is about a 10-15 minute walk that while small, has everything you could need and want.

Other's commented about the noise outside and it does get loud during the day but you can also do what I did the first day, opened the window a bit and listened to 2-3 tour buses talking about the Royal Mile and Edinburgh Castle. When I trekked up the hill, I already knew most of the history. Someone mentioned the stairs were steep but I didn't find them to be an issue at all - they just curve around and my bad knee and all were fine with them.

The only slight negative was the internet could be a bit slow at night but then again, what the heck are you doing on your computer if you're in the heart of everything Edinburgh? Right?

My plan is to come back next year and this will definitely be where I stay again. Love, love the place and the location.
