A bright and beautiful property, right on the waterfront. It has the both the sense of being airy and spacious, as well as cosy and protected (which was very much appreciated as our stay coincided with storm Ali).
The owner is friendly and approachable, and also runs the Ship Inn nearby (the food there is excellent).
The area was quiet, and convenient for the town centre and the beach.
We have a 16 month old who settled in there without any issues.
We’d definitely stay there again.
Just returned today after a wonderful four night break at this little gem. On arrival the owner Steve greeted us with a warm welcome and showed us around this lovely property. The location is amazing right across from the shore. You have great views in a peaceful spot with great sea air. The cottage is very well appointed with everything you could possibly ask for. It's very clean warm and cosy and very comfortable. In addition you have a fantastic bar restaurant called the Ship Inn right across from the cottage. This offers a great selection of drinks and the most wonderful food. You can choose to eat in the bar or book a table in advance for the upstairs restaurant because it's a restaurant very much in demand. Once you taste the food you will know why it is in our opinion the best in Broughty Ferry. The quality of food on offer is locally produced and of top quality.
We were over the moon with this cottage and if I were to return to my home town I would buy this cottage from Steve and spend the rest of my days in Broughty Ferry. Everything in the cottage was immaculate and Steve asks constantly if everything is o.k. The Ship Inn across the road has an excellent cuisine and the beer is good too. It is in walking distance to the shops and bus stops if you want to pop into the town (doon the toon). We saw the dolphins from the bedroom window with the castle in the background - an amazing picture, we then watched the dolphins from the nearby pier. The beach is also just around the corner. The only problem we had, it was too short, next time round we will stay longer. We'll be back for sure.
Amazing views of Broughty Ferry Castle, the River Tay and Fife, a pub and great restaurant right across the lane and plenty of pubs, coffee shops, cafes and restaurants within 10 minutes walk, what more could you ask? Two big bedrooms, one a double the other a twin, plus a folding bed for a fifth person, a fully equipped kitchen - family size fridge-freezer, fan-forced oven, dishwasher and washer dryer, a big bathroom - bath and separate shower, and a roomy lounge with dining table.
Great walks by the river, frequent buses to the city with bus and train connections across Scotland or you can drive up the coast or through the highlands and lowlands. It's an ideal base for day trips to most of eastern Scotland or even Glasgow! If you're a golfer it's a short drive to many golf courses including St Andrews and Carnoustie.
We've stayed twice, done the day trips and are planning a third visit.
The cottage is immaculate and feels spacious, warm and welcoming. Steve takes great care to keep everything in the cottage looking fresh and clean (we've stayed here a number of times now) and the bedrooms are bright and comfortable. The kitchen and bathroom are well equipped. The location is wonderful - right next to the Ship Inn, across the road from the beach and a short walk into the shops, restaurants etc of Broughty Ferry. We love staying here!
