Having visited many dog friendly places I stumbled on this cottage while searching for a short break in the Scottish Borders to show my Greek niece the sites of Scotland. From the minute of booking to our arrival back home we were greeted with warmness and friendliness.
A stunning cottage (the pictures don't do it justice) with 5* luxury A wonderful hamper with essentials such as eggs bread and wine awaited our arrival Fresh flowers and wonderful scented candles as well as an amazing log burner made it all the more perfect.
The rear garden is safe and secure for dogs and a bench at the front perfect for watching the sunset and bat watching.
Lots of wonderful eating places within easy driving distance and the delightful historic towns of Kelso and Jedburgh ( plus many more we didn't have time to visit) make this a great cottage and location to stay
The owners couldn't do enough to make us feel more welcome and a great help in advising where to visit - previous rentals have been no sign of owners and "the key is under the stone" put this place into a different league
Looking for a short or long stay on the Borders - then give this place a try - you'd be a fool not too
We spent a fantastic couple of days in the beautiful Scottish Borders just outside of Selkirk. Stevie and Shona are so friendly and welcoming. Stainie Brae is an amazing cottage to stay in, extremely clean and new interior. The cottage is close to local shops and restaurants while still offering the joy of the local countryside. This would be and ideal location for Walkers, mountain bikers golfers and anyone who appreciates the great outdoor. I can’t recommend this cottage and the people enough. We had a great time and will return soon . Thanks
