The Broomfield Course at Montrose Golf Links is a relatively short course but still a great test of golf. It can be played as a full 18 course but also as 2 separate 9 holes, and is ideal for those who have not time to play 18 holes. It is also ideal for those starting golf and for higher handicappers.

Played Monifieths Medal course little brother, The Ashludie. Omg the greens are the best and most evil to read. They were so fast with optical illusion borrows. The fairways roll up and down.My wife and I played it in a real wind. Stopping the ball was difficult. Putting was a dream though. Please take time to play this classic short links.

Montrose Golf Links, Medal course was a new experience to us. A welcomming staff were supportive and gave us some good advices in playing the course.

The course was fine, but far from excellent. Too many single and double flights behind our flight of three gave us a challenge in letting them all through. This should have been managed better by staff. But it was mostly a sunny day with few players, so it was not a huge problem, but I dont like letting 5 flights going through even we played every whole faster than average time for the course. The Medal course has some challenging wholes, specially the front nine. If wind is strong then its s challenge to keep the ball flying straight. All bunkers were on a high standard, the fairways was ok. Many rabbit wholes along the course became a challenge and much luck to avoid. A good challenging course, with too much based on Par 4. Missed a few more challenging Par 5's.

Played the Medal course on 2nd November, sunny calm day. Front 9 very interesting, back 9 slightly less so but altogether a very enjoyable and good course. Sandwich in Royal Montrose club house afterwards, staff welcoming. Well worth a visit.
